Does anyone know which soul gem recharges the ancient nord axe of frost, did it once along time ago cant remember which one it is?

Any filled soul gem will recharge it, but the lower gems may not recharge it fully---depends on the level of the weapon. Start with a petty and work your way up until you find the one that fills it best. i.e. a petty may fill it a quarter, so you may need a grand to fill it totally .
