Fur Armor crafting gone

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 3:02 pm

i use to craft fur armors before the patch, i think the patch removed the creation of fur armor by the player (let me add this up on the top post).

i know its useless, but why is it gone in armor crafting?

That's the same thing as saying "I know my arm is on fire, but why is it so hot?"

Also, Fur=Hide

I tend to use armor that looks/fits best to my current char, not just what has the best stats...
not being able to fully upgrade fur armor forces me to have inferior armor or upgrade to something I don't neccesarily like the looks of...
so by not having the ability to smith and or upgrade fur armor Bethesda have made it useless, sorta

You can upgrade it a little. My level 21 2H Nord still wears exquisite fur armor.

NOTHING beats a Colovian Fur Helm, especially on an elf.

If you make some + Smithing gear (You could even just use the +20% Smithing gear you can buy from Vendors) and drink even a vendor bought smithing potion (they sell up to +50% at the shops) you can upgrade fur quite a bit. I have a character with some at Legendary status and his AC is like 440 something wearing just Fur. It's my favorite armor in the game by quite a margin. I also like the Leather armor, and Scaled looks cool on some races. For Heavy Armor users I like Iorn, Steel, and Steel Plate. I don't really enjoy the higher tier armors because they just look so odd.

yep, i try to make things simple, but effective, bcos that's how i play. sadly one of the best looking light armor is gone from being forged by the actual player.

I get you now .. you wish we could craft it from the raw materials so it would fully be 'our' creation. I totally agree because it would just feel more awesome to know that we made the armor from animal furs and leathers, then upgraded it. I would be more attached to my armor that way too.

I try to pick out armor by "usefulness" not by pure stats. That is to say, when I am going up north I bundle up in full fur armor, and I never use shiny elven armor on a sneak character. Even though it is not too protective, fur looks so warm and comfy . It would be very immersion breaking to wear anything that doesn't look warm while there is a friggin' blizzard going on.

I was wondering that also. Fur should be down there with hide armor, completely craftable and all that. Maybe it's because there are four different varients of fur armor and they didn't want people wondering why the other armors didn't have any different versions.

one way to help for us not to get confused is to renaming it. but why do that? when you can see it visually.
