PC fus-ro-dahs PS3 version to bits.

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:47 am

Hey everyone,

I, of course, am a PS3 skyrim owner. My character is at level 43, and i have at least 150 hours played. Now, due to the creation kit and possible ability of setting up kinect with it, i purchased the PC version. I started playing at my computers "optimal" graphics (medium) so i wouldnt have fr issues or anything. I still had tons of framerate drops, so i lowered the graphics to LOW. I just want to say the the PC's LOW graphics are at least as good as the PS3's, in my opinion. I am no longer experiencing fr drops, but the only problem is that i can see small lines on some NPCs chins. No problem though, HUGE improvement over PS3. Im just really upset that the quality of the game on my favorite system is such a disappointment, and wanted to let you all know that it truly is (in my experiences.)

Thanks for your time

Oh hey, you can even download a Mod from one of the community members who fixed the little blockiness on the faces:
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30

Welcome to how Skyrim was meant to be played.

I own a PS3, XBOX 360 & a custom built gaming pc with a gtx 560. This is the first game I have ever purchased as a gaming pc owner & I must say that it is scary good on pc. The mods are fantastic ... I had no idea what I was missing out on. Don't get me wrong .... I love the PS3 & enjoy it more than anything, but the modding alone is worth trying it on the pc. This game on PC would have scared me if someone showed me this 10 years ago ... looks like a movie on ultra settings. The HD water & scenery mod improvements are fantastic & so easy to use with the nexus mod manager .... this game will only get better with the mods people are creating & will be around for years to come. Might just be the greatest game of all time. I still will play it on the ps3 as well ... don't really care for the xbox 360 version for any game. PS3 if far superior in my opinion compared to the 360 .... except for Skyrim ofcourse, but let's see what the patch does. Can't wait fot the next generation of consoles .... things will get very interesting for sure.

I own both Oblivion / Skyrim on the PC and Xbox... so I think its all in what your looking for. When I wanting to play with some Mods, I get on the PC... when I just want to sit back and relax I get on the Xbox. Best of both worlds.

Also without trying to start a flame war: Way way way better.

Same here .... not starting any flame wars. I dig the ps3 & most of the games are fantastic. I don't have any idea how Bethesda made a game this complex on limited hardware. We have to face the fact that the consoles are extremely limited by today's standards (That's why I stated that next gen consoles will be very interesting) & correct ! There is nothing like sitting back on the recliner & gaming on the big screen.

Well if this doesn't get locked there's definitely something fishy going on.

This is somehow news that a PC version of anything looks better than a console?

Congrats on giving Bethesda another $60.

Yeah I have all three platforms too but I disagree with this, almost all my multiplatform games look better on my box, not just Skyrim. Skyrim on PC however does indeed look f'n amazing.

well for me it was an obvious choice to go with ps3 because on my pc i dont have surround sound on my ps3 i do, and playing with dolby digital and a plasma screen tv i have no complaints, my brother has skyrim for pc and ill admit it does look better on pc but from my perspective its not way way way better, its better but not by much.

What possible reason do you have to post here? People who have a capable PC and choose to game on it already know to purchase the PC version. People who play on a PS3 do so because it's their only comfortable option. I have a decent PC but an uncomfortable office. There is no reason to post this inane nonsense unless you're just trying to troll.

Yes i know, but im having trouble with the mods right now.... i tried downloading midas magic, but the spells themselves didnt work, so i deleted it, which messed up my "current save" reinstalled everything in midas (not supposed to). Midas spells are no longer available (i had to play from a previous save) and now my skyrim folder has a bunch of junk in it, but it still works fine, haha

Im not trying to troll. Im just complaining that the ps3 is not as good as it shouldve been. PS3 is the superior system in my opinion and i own a 360. I never buy stuff for my 360 anymore, but PS3 is capable of way better graphics than those of skyrim on the 360, and its completely unfair that the xbox received more than us, and NO LAG.

Uhm ok. You bought a PC version of the game. This is not a PS3 Hardware/software issue.

Glad you are enjoying the game either way.
