Future Enemies

Post » Tue Apr 26, 2011 4:05 am

I don't know if this really bothered you at all, but so far, we haven't really had to fight any Power Armored enemies with advanced weapons. The Brotherhood of Steel weren't immediately hostile and could easily be avoided. The Fiends had Laser/Plasma Rifles, but they were unarmored and easy pickings. In Fallout 3, we had enemies like the Enclave, that were challenging even without the DT system. It just seems like a technologically advanced enemy is the only thing that would be provide more challenge, and we have yet to see that. What do you think?

You know before Lonesome Road comes out they should add some uncommon but powerful wandering enemies within the Mojave Wasteland like in Fallout 3. Heck try to make the Legendary Deathclaw appear outside of Dead Wind Cavern.

Well, with Old World Blues I'm guessing we might be seeing some powerful enemies with some decent fire power.

The swamp folk confused me. I don't care how inbred they are they shouldn't be tougher than most super mutants. Now bounty hunting ghouls would be good. Like the talon company only each member has hundreds of years of experience and they're after you.

Aliens!

For sure, but not as blunt as MZ though, have them make subtle appearances and ease them in instead of just going "BAM! ALIENS!"
MZ was hated for trying to force it too quickly but I think Aliens fit in Fallout, they just need to introduce them step by step, slowly easing the fans into the idea of Aliens existing in the Fallout universe.

god no no more aliens

Why?
Just cause they're implemented doesn't meant that we "have to" do a MZ again with them.
Doesn't mean that we "have to" fight them again.
Doesn't mean that they have to be a major enemy or try to "take over the world".
Hell, it's all about how they present them and what story the aliens have.
MZ was horrible with this.
But I don't think people should hate on Aliens just cause of one DLC.
They have great potential for interesting and twisted storylines, so don't hate on Aliens, hate on MZ's design.

Exactly, so by giving the aliens a story and some interaction could really help.
And if we screw them over then they become our enemies. :)

I think we'll probably see the mutants of the Great Divide. Some Chupacabra, maybe. A wendigo or two if we make it into Colorado.

Eh. I kinda like Aliens being restricted to easter eggs as well. MZ didn't bother me much because it was a, well, a culmination of those easter eggs. A 1 time deal via a DLC.

This idea is great.

Aliens, on the other hand, not so much. This post-apoc setting needs to move away from sci-fi, in my opinion. And the second there's more aliens, there will be cries for different aliens, and then the next thing you know, the game is Star Wars: New Vegas. =(

Edit: And I near forgot, my vote: 2-headed yao guai.

There are two technology driven factions in New Vegas: the Followers and BoS. How about a third one, that are more like raiders but have a modified salvaged PA (kinda like the NCR one) and Energy Weapons? The game needs tougher enemies, but I don't like how the toughest enemies, Cazadors, are bugs. How can bugs penetrate Power Armor, anyway?

wanamingo's
A giant character like Frank horrigan
more wanamingo's
floaters (why remove them? they are soo cool and cute and strenght, and he has eat my head.-.)
More Ugly supermutants, the super mutants of fallout 3 and NV are so... hmm "team fortress 2 " stylized.

A good idea for technology raiders would be the ability to pass unharmed if you don't have any high tech things on your person (EW, Power Armor, Platinum Chip, etc.). also, if you're not wearing Power Armor, but have it in your inventory, you could convince them with a speech or barter check. Finally, you could even be friends with them if you donate them supplies and high-tech gear yourself.
