1) I propose you make it so most people RUN from dragons when they attack, especially merchants and quest givers. Make them run to the nearest church or their homes so they have less of a chance of dying. You would still have guards to help you fight the beasts and it would be more realistic and more importantly, less aggravating when someone you don't want to die dies, and then their bodies lay where they fall FOREVER. Or maybe a quicker fix is to give people strong healing potions/spells that they ONLY use for a dragon attack. That way if you get into a fight with the NPC they won't keep healing all their life so fast, because they only heal so much during a dragon attack.
2) And the bug where the original save file created that you can use as a manual save can be overwritten when starting a new character really needs to be fixed. I lost 2 builds with that bug and I've heard from many other people it's happened to as well.
3) Animals running into the nearest body of water and drowning. This is an immersion killer and I feel that their paths, especially for smaller animals like rabbits should not tell them to run into the freezing currents when I get close to them. In general animal AI is unrealistic. I find it's usually easier to run up on a deer and kill it with a sword than to creep slowly and shoot it with an arrow or two.
4) This is a big one. FIX THE HOTKEY SYSTEM! It's not working correctly at all. You know what I'm talking about. ... I hope. But for example I want to hotkey my sword and shield but after I first attack with a ranged weapon/spell and try to use the two hotkeys (two? really?) they won't even equip. My hands go bare and I have to sheathe/unsheathe to get my sword and shield to finally come out. It has gotten me killed so often that I don't use the hotkey system anymore in it's broken state.
5) Make the water textures move a tiny tiny bit faster. I find that they move a little too slow and look unrealistic. Waterfalls look great though.
6) Prioritize the loading of some textures like the ground and tree branches, as too often they either take 5 minutes to pop in or they just stay blurry forever. Most of my shorter green pine branches are all blurry now and never fully load in. Speaking of the the pine branches, look at the ends of them, the way they were cut out with alpha (see-through) outer edges was done very mediocre in some instances and doesn't make any logical sense. Redo that texture.
7) As for textures in general, it seems the 360 has either less compressed/or larger pixel ratio textures, and that is with the PS3's AA filter in mind. If you look at the chainmail, leather and hair textures you will see what I mean. The theory is that as a quick fix for the lag in an earlier patch you actually reduced the size and/or compressed a lot of textures for the PS3. All I'm saying is once you figure out the memory leaks and better allocate memory management I would really appreciate bringing back the higher resolution textures.
8) When riding a horse, if you get too close to it with the camera the horse disappears yet your character is still floating in air. Total immersion breaker. Please make the camera either not be able to get close enough for this to happen, or let the camera go through the horses' mesh. I would rather look at the inside of my horse for a second or two than look at my character float like he's straddling a horse, and it always takes a few seconds for the horse to reappear. (In case some people don't know, you have to click down on both sticks to control the third person camera distance. And there is one camera distance setting for weapon drawn and another setting which is saved for weapon sheathed. I'm not sure if there is a third setting for horse riding but it needs to be tweaked so the horse doesn't disappear or something.)
9) Change the font! Either make it bigger and more medieval looking, or at least just enlarge it a tiny bit as it's futuristic/modern/condensed look really bugs me and is hard to read sometimes. I miss the font from the last two Elder Scrolls games.
I will post more proposals for future patches fixes/tweaks when I get around to it and think of some. I am curious what other people think should go into future patches. Of course the most important fix we are all waiting for is the lag fix and the quest fixes along with other bugs such as the followers and their bugs such as bows not equipping like they should. And remember, we most likely only have a couple more patches coming at best so we need them to pack as many good fixes/tweaks to perfect this game in them as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.
