all i want to know is how to escape with out being seen but at the same time making the bride die infront of everyone

will my tactic of shoot arrow open invent before arrow reaches target drink invisibility potion run to dark corner for duration in sneak mode work ?

Well I just went up to the balcony and killed her with a sword in front of everyone.

Your escape will be made clear to you once you've assassinated the bride.

well that takes out the fun of it then dont it id much rather plan my own escape .-.

yeah it is kinda shallow like most quests

Activate the statue and then immediately turn invisible if you want to avoid the bounty and make a beeline for the exit.

If you chose drop the loose stone, you are not seen and you can just stroll your merry way through the front door but you will still see fighting or frantic guards.

are there archers? im hoping not hate fighting them in the field cuz of their terrible aim (unlike most games i actually try to get hit just so i dont have to look for fallen arrows afterwards to keep save bloat down)

Save, have a couple tries at it, reload and repeat it until you have your satisfactory escape. Just have a go at it.

Why escape? Kill them all and let whatever gods they worship sort it out. It makes this shallow quest a whole lot more fun in my opinion.

3 ways to do this quest.

1. Use that gargolye. Then sneak away
2. Go to the opposite balcony where gabriella placed a hax bow with several elven arrows. Shoot her, and run.
3. Fus ro dah the bride off. Or just stick the dagger up her throat.

Whatever you do, there are 2 ways to escape solitude. Veezera will help you fight back. My best bet is to exit solitude through the small exit in the centre of the city, then run down to morthael.

or use an invisibility poition/spell and watch the dumb guards running around like hamsters

So I re-loaded and killed her with a poison arrow from the farthest point of elevation I could get when she did her speech. There is no need to plan some elaborate escape. The guards were alerted but I was crouched and remained undetected. I quickly put away my bow and walked through the crowd as they ran about screaming. I even looted the corpse... no reason such a fine dress can't be used later right? Walked out the front gate and mapped back to the hideout. No alerts, no attacking guard, no bounty. Easy as pie.</sub>

Did you use the gargoyle during the night? there's a bug that using the gargoyle at night will forfeit the bonus.I always collect that bow, potion and elven arrows but most of the time I use gargoyle method. If you immediately went back, you won't get any bounty (The only bounty I ever had during DB questline on all my character is scripted bounty when I murder the fake emperor). Using the arrow also works but most of the time I must kill her husband too. During your escape, you will always be chased down by 3 enemy (Penitus oculatus guy, grumpy father-in-law and I forgot the other one) even if you are not detected and has no bounty. This is scripted, do *not* attack them, just get out of the city and you'll be fine. Also, it's best to avoid Vezaara, he won't help with your escape, he will trash your escape plan (except if your plan is to kill all that stand on your way).

The way it's suppose to be done is to walk up to the balcony opposite the balcony where she gives the speech. Crouch and remain hidden till she comes up to give the speech and shoot her with a bow. Wait till the argonian comes up and tells you he'll create a distraction. Once every one is engaging him, leave unnoticed.

Maybe you need to have scouted Solitude before the Wedding. It could be events do not proceed until you enter the Cathedral location, so scouting exits and layouts might be possible. Good luck, Hail Sithis.

Yes. I did basically the same thing. I went up the stairs to the top of the wall, and went near a door at the far end. I crouched and shot her undetected. After killing her, the "eye" crosshair opened up slightly, and I saw red dots moving around looking for me. All I had to do at this point is go through the door into the building, where the argonian from the DB met up with me. Then I went right back out through the same door. No more red dots. I dropped down from the wall to the balcony and looted the dead bride's clothes and ring, wore them, then dropped down the rest of the way and sat on her throne in the courtyard. Nobody cared.

How i did this
I waited on the balcony ( have almost perfect sneaking skills)waited for her to give the speech and stabbed her in the back ( stole her clothing aswel as a trophee)
Left the balcony drank a invisibility potion and escaped thru theoptional exit while that argonian created a diversion , nobody saw me and no bounty and astrid gives you the etra reward
Simple

You don't need to escape unseen.

Stand on the balchoney, kill her, wait for the guard to appear, pay the fine, everyone likes you again.

Or fight your way through, but what's the point, when you can pay it off mid wedding.

no I did the quest during the day. I had no idea it was bugged and that was the last time I killed her with that method. The bow is much more fun anyway. Though I wonder how well slipping her a poisoned apple would work. Guess it would come down to the timing. Would be funny to watch her just drop dead on the balcony.
