I cancelled my retail pre-order after hearing how the game is in the state it is currently as I have an HD 4890 card. But I am deliberating whether to buy on Steam as I have never had a game that would not run or had glitches and wondering just how over the top players that are having problems are going.

There is always a massive wave of unhappy people when a game releases and I usually ignore them and the games are fine on my PC but for some reason I reacted and cancelled.

Are the new ATI drivers working now? Will id be looking into fixes?

Yes it runs fine for most of the ppl, and also ATI and ID will support this game further along.
