Game booster.

Has anyone ever heard of Game Booster by Orbit?
Is this thing really that useful to pay for let alone download?

Also. I just bought a new gaming laptop and kinda got carried away with decking it out.
It should come by the beginning of next month.
I was just wondering how do i improve FPS?
What software will help improve gaming?

C: Thanks for the feedback!

I wouldn't spend money on something that just closes background processes that you can close yourself.

And defragments game files? Negligible effect on loading times, maybe, but not actual performance. There's also normal free software for defragmenting out there.

Hm. Thanks. I've been using smart defrag and i think game booster actually has defrag for games.

I wouldn't bother with things like that, to be honest. Anything that claims to make your computer faster isn't doing anything outside of maintenance you could do yourself for free with a little research. If anything I'd be afraid it would screw something up.

Funny story, back when I was computer illiterate that's what I thought the "Your system is low on virtual memory" balloon did.

http://www.freenew.net/windows/game-booster/68751.htm

I used an earlier version of that few times on my old system, didn't give notable performance boost. Though caused no issues either

Most of the FPS tweaks, I think, will just be with the display options. You may not be able to play all your games 3d with every slider option on full.

But, playing x-com with dosbox and I still see lag. So...
Hell I don't know.

So you have 323 GB or ram? Don't tell me you converted your bedroom floor into a motherboard.

*Prays that the laptop has 8 SO-DIMM slots or that you are wrong / lying* I am also doubtful as I have never seen a laptop with 8 DIMM capacity.

If you really got a laptop in that class you aren't going to have to worry about maximizing FPS for a while, I'd go so far as to say it isn't worth the effort at this point.

The only downsides with buying a laptop that high-end are that 1.) they're really expensive compared to a comparable desktop and 2.) they don't have a lot of upgrade potential.

3.) You can't drop a desktop, and it's hard to spill something on one.

Ok, ok. They also oftentimes have heat problems. Oh, and you can end up with "those pictures" you took of yourself all over the intertubes if you leave it somewhere.

Actually this laptop seemed to be okay.
I was planning on buying a desktop and keep it medium (Cause i could always upgrade it)
But i decided to buy a laptop so i can bring to my friends house and game with them..
And it was a pretty decent in price range to a desktop.

I got gamebooster and using it for free. I don't think there's problems with it. The paid for version just lets you do different stuff I think. Why don't you just download it and try?

Wait, what about "those pictures"?
