I decided to play Skyrim today and I clicked "continue" and it shows the load screen for a second then crashes to desk top. I tried to load files for other characters but it does the same thing. Has this been happening to anyone else?

now it just freezes up on the loading screen after the bethesda softworks logo in the menu. It just shows the Imperial dragon and freezes there.

I'm having the same issue. I reinstalled the game, I have fewer than 50 mods on, and it still crashes on me.

Has this happened since game updated to 1.5? Try removing mods as they may not be compatible with 1.5.

no its not the 1.5 update. I fond the problem. Any mods that alter the beginning of the game screw it up. I got the Helgen Starting Kit mod and that Fu**ed it up. My friend downloaded the "another Life" mod and it screwed his game up so bad he had to go thorugh all his comp files and delete any thing that had to do with skyrim and all his mods. I do not recommend any mods that change the beginning of the game.

I've been having the same issuse and I'm so glad I found this thread. I argued with the author of the Live Another Life Mod and tried to be civil and let him know that his mod was causing the issue in some way... but I think even with his mod unticked I'm still having the same issue. The first load works every time, but it's any reload that I attempt after that, that wants to crash me to my desktop. It's hindered me from playing to game because anytime I die by some unexpected means I can't trust the game to load and it just takes me to my desktop again and again. =/
