Game crashes at the end of "A visit to the old Town"

Hi everyone, I search for a solution to this problem, and I have readed all topics but no of them make usefull for me

At the end of "A visit to the old town", right after Jack goes to bed and the dairy pages comes up, I click (Esc or backspace in deafault controls) for the game goes on, but then the game closed by, and the desktop of windows is shown

I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 (Pentium Dual-Core T4400 2.2Ghz, 3.46 GB of RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bits version)

I tried to run the DCOTE Game and launcher with windows xp sp2, sp3 and 2000 compatibility with no success

What can I do now?

I don't know if you tried this already, but some scripts in the game have trouble with dual core. Ctrl-alt-del out of the game, go to the processes, right click and set it to only cpu 0 or cpu 1 (not both).

I try, but that's another problem I have, when I push the windows button (the one to show start) or ctrl+alt+supr the game found an error and must close

Oh yes there is only one time in the game where you can minimise it without it crashing.

Start the game, get into the menu and then press ctrl-alt-del. Set the cpu and then return to the game. Load your save and it should work. If you load the game before that it will crash, even if you return back to the menu later on, as far as I can tell.

Hope this works for you now :)
