Game crashes while watching the ending.

I thought for sure this issue would be resolved if I deleted the DXD9Blahblah.dll but unluckily it seems that no matter what, the cost for improved performance is the inability to watch the ending and see what good I have done in the wastes. Anyone know what the fix to this issue is so I can go on and view my ending?

Nope.
I don't think there will be a resolution for this until they release their big comprehensive patch months later.
I couldn't watch my ending either.
I was so frustrated with the little problems and CTDs that I decided to end my game prematurely without exploring the Mohave or finishing my sidequests.

I'm not gonna start it again until the game's fixed up some.

I just found out I had the d3d9.dll still in my folder when I uninstalled the game and went into the folder to see what was left of the game. STUPID STUPID ME

Bumping one more time to see if anyone can give me an answer to my issue as it is still happening and I do not wish to wait for another patch.

Yeah, I'm having exactly the same problem. The game crashes either on the first section of the ending, or as soon as it moves to the second scene. SO frustrating.

I've been encountering this exact same issue since the latest patch, which is very irritating considering patches are supposed to improve the game rather than break it. The ending crashes shortly into the opening segment, or in the next segment (usually talking about Tabitha and Rhonda).

yep the tabitha slide is as far as i have been able to see. this game is a joke and i guess the jokes on us for buying it . more and more i feel like i pay a DEV to beta test their game for them . And have to wait weeks to months to be able to play it once the patch it right.

A month later, a new patch, and I'm still crashing whilst watching the ending. :shakehead:

Same here. The one thing that I was most excited about with the release of the long awaited patch was to see the ending, but clearly that's still an issue. So very sad.

Probably because you need to start a new game.
Your save's got all the wacky bugged scripts associated with it, and that could be what's causing it to crash?
I dunno.
I didn't even bother going back to the Dam on my original save. I just deleted my saves. I'll get to it eventually.

Is their no way for me to watch the ending of my game if it was played before the newest patch supposedly fixed this glitch?

Did anyone who was having the crash on ending bug play a new game and successfully get through the ending?

One thing to try - nirsoft ihttp://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html- this program allows you to enable/disable codecs (and directshow filters) without uninstalling them. I was having other weird issues with FONV and I essentially disabled all of my codecs except mircrosoft, spiro, franhaufer, creative (I have a creative sound card) and it helped. I had a very similar problem with FO3 dying almost immediately (got to the party) and disabling all but these basic codecs fixed it.

I have had a lot of weird stuff caused by sound and sound related issues including codecs in both XP and Vista with Bethesda's fallouts.
