The story as a actual story? Ten minutes.
Gameplay wise? It's probably 15-30 minutes per level. And for each side there is eight. Six main and two 'what if's. However, if you want to count both sides of the campaign as separate, then you can double the time.

btw - loved fallout 3 - found new vegas a bit boring.

anyway, brink isnt really a single player game. yes, you can play Vs bots but just on the multiplayer maps. its a great game for an objective based multiplayer shooter.

it is nothing like fallout though. just so you are aware.

This game is relatively short, with less than 4 hours of story. If you listen to all of the personal logs, you get a much better understanding of the leaders, though. But if you play this game for the story, you're wasting your time. Gameplay wise, it's nothing like Fallout. Very few bugs in the game, great assortment of weaponry, and with a PS3 and 360 patch+ DLC on the way, it can only get better.

It took a lot to get used to- you don't see people glitching through the ground, movement is essential, and well over half the time nobody is sitting next to you blasting a minigun at a pack of enemies. The only true similarity between the two is the slightly humorous aspect incorporated into the game. You'll go from "Shhh- we're hunting [censored]heads." to "Hes pretty, but he ain't me- enemy in disguise!". Sorry, I couldn't think of any FO3 companion quotes; its been awhile since I played it, and all I can think of are FNV ones.

Theres no real "story." Its basically just a lot of shouty incoherent gibberish. Its kind of like being heckled at by a tramp at a bus stop. The game is enjoyable but has serious issues. If you're in the uk you can forget about playing with any us or australian friends you have as the game freezes, lags and collapses like a drunk in an alley. Playing with next door neighbours works fine however. Basically, if you have money to waste then buy it. If not, then buy Bad Company2. That has an actual single player, huge maps and the mp works.

Well it svcks on the xbawks. I had thought it had been fixed until i tried playing with some us and aussie buds. It looked like the f**kin thing was going into cardiac arrest. This made me very buttmad.

thats a limitation of no dedicated servers. with a central server you get much better connections. otherwise you are pinging all over the place. isnt it M$ who dont like dedi servers as they cant force people to pay for using other people's servers.

Basically the storyline is the same on every level...side a: we need to do this side b: we need to stop them. But it is fun, very fun and addictive . If you play sp campaign set it to hard mode, the bots are 1337, no wait....uber 1337, 97% headshot craziness. And MP, though is a mixture of humans and bots is still fun

I dont think ms care either way. As far as i know the devs have to pay for dedicated servers. Even so, i can play halo, cod, bf with american and aussie friends without any problems. Last night we dumped Brink, moved onto Halo and that worked fine. I suspect s.d are using servers constructed from shoelaces and rubberbands.

the pc servers are fine.

maybe halo uses dedi and not p2p? sony titles use dedicated servers for some stuff. kz3 are and i guess drake's will be too.

how can you say SD are using poor servers for xbox? they arent using any. the servers in p2p is all the players connecting to each other and an M$ central server. p2p is good for torrents and not much else. useless for gaming.

No. Halo is p2p. Dice are one of the few devs on xbox who use dedicated servers. The server comment was a joke. Sorry, next time i shall highlight any jokes with a sign in large capital letters.

The campaign is just the freeplay (multiplayer) played in sequential order instead of voting for the next map. Both have the same short cut-scenes before/after each level. There's a great back story and setting for Brink, but nothing memorable for the ingame story. That said it can still be a great game played with some buds, but like I tell anyone thinking about getting Brink, it's best to rent it or borrow from a friend to try it out first. It's a diamond in the rough that some people appreciate more than others.
