» Fri May 27, 2011 4:08 pm Like most of you, we've have severe problems with game freezes - specifically, this was happening when trying to leave the 38 casino.
Having read through most of the posts here, the common denominator seemed to be McCoy's hat. So we reverted to a save prior to doing that quest and just didn't do it at all. We've been freeze/crash free ever since and have gotten back to the save point that was giving us the problems - and the problem has now gone.
Don't know if this is just us, but it might explain why some people have no problems and others have loads. If you've tried everything else, this is worth a go.
We might go back and try again and DO the quest at some point, just to see if problem recurs but to quote my husband "screw that, I didn't pay 100 euro to be an unpaid beta tester"
Hope this might help some of you out there - it's still a pain in the butt, but if skipping the one quest makes the rest of the game playable, at least you can carry on until there's a fix.
