Obviously a release date deadline did not allow for the bug fixing process to come to completion. I really don't know why they willingly released a blatantly faulty product in favor of meeting a release deadline.
As far as I'm concerned Fallout and Elder Scrolls are Bethesda's Flagship titles. Would Nintendo release Zelda or Mario in this condition? No, if they're not ready, they push back their release dates to ensure that the fans get the best quality they can deliver.
It really DOES seem like they intended us to finish the testing, and point out the errors. So they wouldn't have to pay anyone to do it.
Whatever testing was done, it couldn't have consisted of playing the entire game from start to finish.
