Game Running bad FPS : Othor Games

The game is running really poorly on my machine. The frame rate is extremely low. I have an ATI Radeon HD 4800, so is there something with AMD/ATi cards?

I'm also getting a painfully low framerate. Only during gameplay, though.
GTX 470 - I'm also currently updating it to the current version.

I seem to remember the same thing with Doom3 but the game was capped at 30FPS for a reason. It feels like I am getting bad FPS but Fraps shows that I am getting 60+.

Same issue as you, Phear. I feel as though I'm getting 25-30 FPS and it's not at all smooth, but Fraps shows that my frame rate is 60+. This is incredibly strange! I've tried both the 11.5a and 11.4 drivers and my performance remains the same. My PC specs are as follows:

Intel i7 860
8 GB RAM
ATI HD 5870 (11.4 Catalyst)

No, it did nothing for me. The hotfix frame rates are no better for me than those in the 11.4 drivers.

Having the same issues with my 5870. Its just the gameplay that is running at terrible FPS, everything else is fine.

Im starting to doubt in so many ways and performance was always the biggest worry, from what you guys are stating - ill be cancelling mine soon.

Don't quote me, but I thought I read somewhere that the fps is capped at 30, and you have to shut off Vsync to unlock it. Have any of you tried that yet, just out of curiosity?

If the FPS is capped, then shutting off V-sync don't fix it.

I to read that FPS is capped, but that was only for the xbox and ps3 - not PC.

I would certainly try turning off the v-sync, I read that as well.

Whatever you do, cancel your order as soon as you can and wait for this game to be patched. It's in no state to be purchased and enjoyed at this time. Splash Damage really blew this opportunity, and I'm not sure I'll ever purchase anything from them again.

I heard over http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22325616&postcount=2 that a 30 FPS cap is instituted on Solo and Coop. The cap is lifted when you play multiplayer. I'll test that tonight.

If that doesn't work I'll play BC2 for a while
