Thanks for the heads up! Hm...Darkness II for $12.50, and it activates on Steam, eh? ...Must...resist... *sits on hands*

There's some good deals in here. Saints Row 3 is $25 and activates on Steam, and if you don't already own Magicka or Mount & Blade you'd be a bit nuts not to grab them for those prices.

If you don't have a GOG account yet, go for it now. If you put it in your basket before April 8th, 23.59 GMT it'll be added to your GOG account for free. Permanently.

The GOG version of the game also comes with some tweaks to make it easy to play on modern systems. And it comes with the soundtrack, the 'Fallout Bible', a bunch of wallpapers, avatars, and other stuff.

DAMN IT! Only if I had waited a little longer I could have had it for free!

Actually made a GOG-account today, and got the free games and Fallout. Definitely going to buy some older games there, since they make them work on Vista/W7.

How did you register? I've been trying to create one for over 2 months, and I never recieve any sort of validation email after filling out the info. I try to log in with it, and it returns with a messege saying the account does not exist.

I just clicked 'sign in' and choose to register - had to fill in an emailaddress and a password, and that's it. Got a mail immediately, but there was no link activation or anything.

Keep in mind, you will still need a couple of patches in order to make Fallout run with proper colors and 16x9 aspect ratio

Most intriguing. The maximum password length for registration appears to be 7 characters.

Is Fallout 1 a good game? it's free. 500 mb would take awhile to download though.

You can add it to your virtual game shelf and download it later when you feel like trying it out. :)
I've never played it myself, but Fallout 1 and 2 are supposed to be good post-apocalyptic RPG's...with dated graphics, of course.

It depends. If you don't mind mid-90's graphics and turn-based combat it's a very good game. Otherwise you might not like it.

It's not exactly a sale, but I couldn't think of a better place to put this.

Yesterday I wandered into an EBGames here in Melbourne, and saw they had Planescape: Torment on the shelf... http://i40.tinypic.com/ouy3rs.jpg. Meanwhile, GOG http://www.gog.com/gamecard/planescape_torment, as the standard price. In those terms, GOG's normal price is still a 66% discount on what I could get it for from a brick'n'mortar shop :P.

For comparison, Mass Effect 1 was $19.15, and older games are usually about the $20 mark. So maybe it was a typo, but it'd be odd for that to get onto the shelf.

Anyone used Amazon's download service before? I assume you create an account and can download the games anytime, just like every other service out there?

EDIT: Nevermind found an answer elsewhere.

It's great, one of the most memorable games I've played - mostly due to the unique atmosphere. You'll just need to get used to the graphics and the general feel of a game that's 15 years old ;) But it's for free, so you won't lose anything either way. Just put it on your shelf and download whenever you want.

I know I did, I was kicking myself for missing the last Steam sale for Fallout and here it is, completely free

I see Magic the Gathering 2012 gold pack is $6.79 on Steam right now. I've never played Magic or any card trading game, but I've always wondered what it's like. Does anyone know if the game is any good? Is it mostly for Magic fans or could one use it to learn about and experiment with Magic? Are there AI opponents? I'm sure human ones would destroy me and I don't have a ton of time to dedicate, so is it sort of casual, in a way that you can pick up and play and leave off and enjoy it?

Anyone heard that Fallout 1 is being given away on GOG for free for the next 48 hours?

Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8848/, €0.99 today. They're parodies of old school JRPGs. I've played Cthulhu, it's pretty funny.
