Game Stop Order

Post » Sun Feb 13, 2011 2:36 pm

I was just checking my Game stop order of NV and the Guide. It seems I have a tracking number for the game guide, but the game itself is still listed at not shipped. With their street date promise I expected to see a tracking number not "ships the 19th"

Getting my $10 for shipping back would be a poor consolation for having to wait another day.

Does any one else have previous experience with game stops "street date delivery"?

is it coming US Postal UPS or FedEx i find that US Postal updates there tracking numbers only every 24 hours so if it shipped say monday you will not find out that it has left Game stop til tuesday usually after it is in your hands.

You will need to contact Gamestop on this.

As stated, if this is shipping USPS (probably Priority Mail) there is no tracking until after delivery.

When I pre-ordered Fallout 3 threw Gamestop, It did not appear closed until 3 days after release. I had F3 on release day, delivered by Fed Ex. Hell, the money wasn't withdrawn until 2 days after F3's release.

StarCraft 2 Gamestop billed me aweek ahead of release, Dragin Age was the day of.

To make a long story short, It has been diffrent with every preorder, but have ALWAYS gotten the game on the release day.

My visa card was charged today for the CE. So I'm guessing its shipping tonight.

Yeah I never order from Gamestop, for any reason anymore, if that give you any indication...

Gamestop rocks..

They have never let me down on a street release date yet.

Don't worry...I usually get the game before the site updates my order.

That is promising. right now the guide has a UPS tracking number that UPS said is not valid. and no change to the game. I feel like a refresh monkey on a webcomic update.. must stop my self. it will be what it will be.

I've preordered roughly a dozen games through gamestop, and have always gotten them on time.

That said, I can't think of one order with overnights when the shipping status changed until after I recieved the product.

It can be frustrating at first, but depending on your location you may not recieve 'up-to-date' tracking info until you already have the item.

Of course by then, you won't even care.

Off topic, but the stores are going to offer the game tonight at 12 AM (this morning). I have to work Tuesday, so I rather just wait till after work to pick it up and avoid the huge lines at 12 AM...... I heard the line for Halo Reach was outside the Gamestop in my area.

Anyone going to their local 12 AM Gamestop release?

I checked Game Stops FAQ;

Why did I receive the product before the tracking number was made available?
Occasionally, we ship new release products before tracking numbers and order statuses are loaded into our system. We try to get every game into your hands as soon as possible. To accomplish this, we sometimes use external resources that ship the product directly from the source, thereby eliminating extra handling time. Our systems are updated as soon as we get the data back from the external resource, which is sometimes well after your product has been shipped. When time is of the essence, we place the priority on getting the product to you rather than updating our records because, in the end, getting the product to you is what it is all about.

Guess I should not worry to much. Now if only the UP's man comes earlier then his usual 3pm.

When did you order? Depending on how early you ordered could determine if they get to processing it early or not.

I ordered from gamestop very early on the 14th of October, at about 2:00pm CMT I received an email saying my package had shipped and its due to arrive on the 20th. [the tracking number listed its departure time. Now the first entry on the tracking number listed 5:00am. So it took 9 hours from when UPS picked it up for gamestop to tell me it had shipped. Here's the thing on that $10 overnight shipping, your package can arrive faster then gamestop informs you that its shipped.
Edit: I can see by your checking of the FAQ while I typed you found this out yourself
