"Black Death" did not svck as badly as I thought it would. Most medievalish movies are lame beyond belief, but that was ok, and yes Carice van Houten was great in it. I think she had more presence there than she's had as Melisandre. Different scenario I guess. In the movie she stands out a lot.

I'd be pretty worried about you if she didn't. She's supposed to have a very harrowing effect on everybody around her (including you!) because honestly WTF is she up to, where are her powers coming from and holy [censored] does she really believe what she's preaching?!

Well, "I'm going in". I have not read anything in this thread to this point so I have no preconceived notions of what to expect outside of the little bits I have seen on "geek shows". I tried to avoid as much as possible.

I just added the HBO HD/Movie Central HD channel package (1/2 off first 2 months) to my cable account and now have access to all the episodes for "free" through VOD.

I can start right at (se1 ep1) 'Winter is Coming' and carry right on through to (se2 ep6) 'The old gods and the new' as fast as I can stand to.

So excited.
