I'm getting seriously annoyed with this game and wondering if anyone can help?

Got the game yesterday for my 80GB PS3. Installed the latest update for the game then let it install it's self and the trophies onto the hard drive. Loads up to the welcome screen and asks me to press start. Press start and i get no response.
Tried several times and no joy. Took copy of game back to store, they tested it and it worked fine but exchanged the game for me in case there was a glitch. Loaded the new copy up and exactally the same. I then decieded to delete all my data saves for all my PS3 games including the orignal fallout and the install for the new and start up the install again without installing the up-date incase the update was causing the issue, after installing it's still stuck on the screen asking to press start but with no response. It hasn't frozen as the display picture in the background keeps changing. I know the joypad is working fine as works with other games.
All i can think of doing is wiping my PS3 HDD clean and trying after a fresh install, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

I would recommend walking to your nearest store, halfway there stop.... until you pass out from exhaustion and your body forces you to do a hard re-boot. you'll end up back home because the save police will put you back there... that is, if the save police are working for your copy, if not you'll end up back at the beginning of your life, a newborn ready to start all over again. When you do I'd choose the perk that helps you avoid purchasing Fallout:NV again.
