My game won't work and crashes

I start the game, watch the introvid, then in the loading screen it crashes. I tried reinstalling graphics card, the game itself, and doing bunch of things but no dice. gunmadmadman said it worked for him before reinstallign windows...but yeah doesn't work for me at all. please help. Thank you.

You have a lot of Direct show codecs. Have you tried to reset them to the original factory settings using the below link. It worked for me. However be warned read the notes first as it can have adverse effects on other programmes that use the codecs.

I'm not too sure there is not a bug either with ATI or Windows 7, that or the fault lies some where within one of them.
Have you had any issues on the internet, or videos on any other game, try them out first.
My specs are very similar to yours, and it's a new computer I'm on, these are the two things that are the major changes and seem to on both help forums seem to be showing up.

I tried all of the other posted "Fixes", fallout.ini mods, windows mode, anti aliasing and none of them worked for me. So I decided to bite the bullet and try the Directshow filter reset. It worked for me. I have played the game for nearly two weeks now (clocking over 80 hours game play) without any crashes, glitches apart from the odd in game bug, but they are known issues.

The only problem I had after running the filter reset programme was with DivX but I suspect that was playing up prior to the reset and therefore I deleted it. I may get around to reinstalling it in the future after I have finished FNV.

Since you have too problems here's the fix to both.
*Remember this gives bad quality for the landscape but you won't crash and your fps goes up alot.*

1) Go on steam and right click on fallout new Vegas and click properties.
2) Click the "Local Files" tab and select "Verify integrity of game cache".
3) After download is complete move to step 2.




STEP2

Download- http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=68581 (Unzip it duhh)

And place it in your main game for fallout new Vegas.
Mine is- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new Vegas


Congrats you can now play fallout new Vegas!
