Game wont start

When I click play on steam, or if I try to run the launcher or the actual game from the file, it says "Fallout New Vegas Launcher has stopped working", and nothing happens. Thing is, it started off fine. I played through the intro, got outside, then wanted to change some of the settings from the launcher, now it wont start. What do?

(though i dont see how my specs would stop the launcher itself from running)

just redownloaded/installed the entire game.. got it to work once and played for about a half hour. game crashed, now the launcher is broken again.

this game is unplayable :/

i really hope a solution is patched in.

It has to be one file getting corrupted, or something of this sort, each time I play the game. I think this because it works only once after I download/install the game, then the launcher is broken for all consecutive tries after that.

Also, Oblivion ran flawlessly on my computer if that matters at all.

This happened off and on with Fallout 3. Bethesda never got around to fixing it. The only solution was to keep launching the launcher and hope that the launcher wouldn't crash so you could launch the game. With New Vegas, the problem is worse. You can almost never get the launcher to not crash. If it doesn't crash when you start the game, it'll crash when you exit the game making you close it manually via task manger. The only solution it seems for now is to launch the launcher manually by going to the game's files. Even though there is a chance it'll crash then, your success rate is higher. I'm launched out with the bugs and while I would love to play more, I think it's back to DR2 or something until Obsidian releases a patch for obvious, old bugs.
