Games to hold you over until Skyrim

Post » Fri Jul 29, 2011 1:31 am

So what games are you guys thinking of getting to hold you over until 11/11/11? I am thinking Deus Ex Human Revolution, R.A.G.E, and GOW 3.

Oblivion, nothing more. Basically right now I'm goin' around the game looking for things that haven't really been talked about that can or should be fixed in Skyrim.

Finally broke down and bought that recently, I hesitated for a long time because Bethesda didn't develop it.....

But yeah, to be honest I like it more than FO3. It might not be enough to hold me over until Skyrim, but I've got a lot of recently-bought games off of steam that I haven't even touched yet. (damn 70% sales..)

Looking forward to the new Deus EX but for now I'm sticking with Minecraft :) I've already gone back and replayed Morrowind and Oblivion and watched a Lets Play series on Daggerfall and Redguard on YouTube!

L.A. Noire - Just finished it but it was the start of holding me over.
Deus Ex 3
Madden NFL12
Far Cry 2 - Going to start replaying that soon
Test Drive Unlimited 2 - Has it's flaws but they will get fixed soon
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory - lost count on how many times I've played that
Splinter Cell Double Agent - same as above
Nascar 11 - I might or might not get that, still waiting to see if patches fix it up
Fight Night Champion - Still haven't gotten started on this one yet.

I have plenty to keep me busy.

I tried playing through Oblivion again. Spent hours researching and installing mods that came out since i last played it.. sadly it couldn't hold my interest :(

But now I am playing through a modded Fallout 3 and having a blast.

I have Dragon Age 2 , and Pokemon White (They both honestly svck compared to their predecessors :sadvaultboy: )

I also bought Darksiders like over a month ago and still haven't even started it

Also I have Rock Band 3 collecting dust , have been waiting for them to put out enough cool new songs to justify me buying points and going at it again , unfortunately they are dellusional and think that this is 1992 or that their key demographic is 45 year olds or something so cool , new , RELEVANT music comes to RB only rarely :sadvaultboy:

I beat Dragon Age 2 once so far , I thought it made no [censored] sense till the end of the game where it became apparent that DA2 is just a stepping stone to form DA3s story

I may do Dragon Age 2 over again , maybe multiple times over just to do it as different classes w/ different party members and relationships , make different choices and see what happens

Pokemon White , I have had SO MUCH trouble getting into , I don't think I've made it any further than lvl 37 and 4 badges or so , I have restarted the game with each starter and its just so [censored] hard to get into the game when theres no cool pokemon to add to the team in the early/mid game..................... :sadvaultboy:

Its gonna be a boring 3 months............. and I have considered doing real life type things leading up to the game but I know when this game , and Saints Row 3 , and WWE12 all come out in a single month that I'd quit my job and blow off my GF and probably get dumped if I have a job/gf at the time of these games release anyway , so I feel like I should probably just avoid having a social/work life untill spring 2012 because thats how ridiculous these games are lol

(I like my indie games)
Terraria
Minecraft
Dwarf Fortress

(also a sim junky)
IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover

Oblivion of course

The only other AAA title I'll be getting will probably be BF3, so it can hold me down those final two and a half weeks till the mother ship that is skyrim descends upon us all.

And plenty of Books.

All of this in addition to an everyday life.

I have a "past games" obsession recently so I bought Gothic 1-2-3 (one package) and Fallout 1-2-tactics. So far, I'm very impressed by Gothic 1. I use waiting time for new games to discover old games I missed. So far so good.

its a great game. and Old World Blues, the newest DLC is amazing, very worth getting. It is much better than FO3 because it was not made by Bethesda, but by people who made the original Fallouts (FO1 and FO2).

Personally I thought BG was good, played through it several times.

Currently occupying myself with inFamous and inFamous 2 while I wait for Battlefield 3.

I'm playing a lot of R.U.S.E. at the moment, a couple of years old but an incredibly underrated RTS
