Quick! Hide it before it catches on and millions of people post it everywhere! Hide hide hide!

Bethesda's infamous "writing department" is shown up again.

Edit: erm... OP, that is real and not fake..... Isn't it? :/

Yeah that's real, lol. God Bethesda may not have the best 'overall' writers, but they sure are great at having awesome stuff like this, haha.

Its real, but I doubt Bethesda did that on purpose (The fact the two dialogues was written the same time way before the arrow/knee joke came)

I'm pretty sure both of those lines were jokes from the writing department.

If they weren't....

How much you want to bet Maiq comes back in the next game and makes an arrow to the knee joke.

Lol. I can see it now...
M'aiq: M'aiq has heard the guards here are not as fond of taking arrows in the knee as the ones in Skyrim.

Or "M'aiq has heard that guards got tired of taking arrows in the knees, so they brought back the practice of having armor on their legs" :P That is, if they bring back leggings of course.

I'd say:

M'aiq has heard that all the guards in Skyrim were adventurers, until they took an arrow in their knees. M'aiq always covers his knee when he meets an archer

EDIT:typo

I haven't seen M'aiq the Liar in the game yet. :( Maybe when I take a sword to the chest he will appear.

M'aiq used to be an adventurer. Then M'aiq took an arrow in the knee.

He has an excuse. All the guards are just N00bzors at Skyrim.

Maybe next TES will take place in Elsweyr and, and you meet him in his home, and he says this. :P

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that M'aiq will be making a reference to arrows and knees somehow in TES VI. :)

Sounds racist. Just because M'aiq is a Khajiit, doesn't mean he lives in Elsweyr. :run:

I have to admit though, the writing department did a great job. It seems like the guards have quite a bit more depth then the two-line mercenaries from Fallout 3. I once stayed in Whiterun for 20 minutes, seeing if I could get them to repeat something. It never happened. :tes:

And um....m'aiq is a khajit and he lives in elsewhere. I dunno where that is, but it is definitely elsewhere.
