Gamestop Trade-In : Othor Games

I'll start from what I think would be the most expensive to the least expensive:

Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age: Origins
Borderlands
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1
Halo 3
Call of Duty: World at War
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Dead Rising 1
Turok
Blacksite Area 51
The Simpsons Game

I'm trying to get $160 out of this deal. How far off am I?

With so many games, you might get enough to buy one new game. That is according to what I think you would get for them where I am.

hard to say as some GS are different. Call your nearest GS and ask.

Last trade in I did was when the GameCube was around, I sold it and the 5-8 some games I had and got 80 bucks.

I'm not sure about Gamestop, but from what I know about the trade in rate at EB games you'd be lucky to get half that. It might be better to sell them on Ebay or Craig's List.

You'd fare a lot better if you traded in your games to Best Buy, from my experience they generally offer double-triple what Gamestop offers for some games (definitely not all games though). I think Black Ops alone still gets you $25.

Close. I want to get enough money to fix my broken Xbox and buy Skyrim's retail version in time for release.

You probably won't get more than $100 if your lucky. If your trading it in towards a new title such as Skyrim or any other AAA release you get 30% bonus to the trade in value of each game.

If your not in a rush sell them online.

How does this work exactly? I heard somewhere that you have to pre-order the game you're putting it towards first. I'm flat broke though so I can't.

Do I just tell them I'm going to buy Skyrim with it?

I haven't fully perused your list, but just remember that Gamestop does NOT buy Xbox games, only Xbox 360.
As long as those are all 360 games, you'll be getting quite a nice bit of store credit. You'll get crap for cash, though.

Yep. That's why you don't trade games into Gamestop unless you're really that desperate.

Aye. I remember reading of someone approaching people in Gamestops to sell them the games rather than going through Gamestop. You get more cash and the other person gets the game for a lot cheaper than Gamestops insanely inflated used game prices.

Best Buy? Who told you Best Buy gave good prices for used games? If you really want to sell them, then just sell them at Gamestop if you can't wait for online selling. The prices may not be top notch but, you seem to be hurting for the cash for some unknown reason.
