Gaming headphones for Xbox360 help

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:37 pm

Hi,I've been recently looking to find a way to use headphones to play games on my Xbox360,but so far I've only come across the headsets that let you talk to other players online.
What I'm looking for is either some headphones that let me hear the actual in-game sounds and music while I play,or a way to hook my own current headphones to do the same thing, either works.

So some people told me I need some type of male to female cable to do this and hook it to the Xbox Cables then to my TV,but then it got all confusing and I got lost. Someone else recommended for me to buy a Turtle Beach headset but I'm not sure if they just let me talk to others or if they really let me hear in-game sounds.

What do you guys suggest? When I played PC,using headphones made the game experience so much better, but since I'm getting the game Skyrim on my Xbox,I really want to get the same experience as on PC.

Turtle Beach headphones will let you listen to the sounds of the game as well as the players, its actually one of their main selling points.

I had the Triton AX720's for a short while, very good set of headphones. Quite pricey though, although they do work on all three systems.

Would any of these work?

Im looking for some inexpensive ones, but at the same time giving a good enough quality of sound. If it sounds better then a pair of iPod Headphones then I'll be happy.

Man those look sixy but waaaaay out of my price range unfortunately. If I got those,I wouldn't even be able to afford the game =/

Im looking for some for around 60$ or less that can get the job done.

Oh ok. Then I'd go with the http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/xbox-gaming-headsets/ear-force-x11.aspx or http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=5102&idCategory=317.

Alright sounds perfect,thank you :]

Btw,what would you prefer? The Turtle Beach or Triton? or is it just a matter of personal preference?

I've only used Astros, but I'd go with the Turtle Beach; they just have a better design imo.

I've always heard good things about the Turtle Beach pair, and they are significantly cheaper than the Triton's, should be a good purchase.

If you like you're PC headphones you could get somethng along the lines of http://steelseries.com/products/consoles/steelseries-spectrum-audio-mixer-xb. I was thinking about getting one recently.
