Gauldar Amulet Fragment (of health--where is it?)

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 7:51 am

With 236 hrs into the game, I thought I'd tie up some loose ends--and quests.

The Gauldar Amulet Fragments--there are 3 to collect. I have the one for Stamina, and the one for Magicka--where in blazes is the 3rd one for Health?

Now, I recall going on a killing spree in Folgunthur waaaay back on my way to Solitude. Problem is, the Journals map feature is directing me back to Folgunthur for that fragment.

True, it says "cleared", but I've found many caves and ruins that respawn.

Following the inner maps item location arrow, takes me to an empty spot on the floor in the main chamber--no corpse, ash pile or anything, just bare space. Any clues where it might be, or have I toasted this quest somehow?

As a Mage at lvl 51, I have no real need for what it offers, but it'd be nice to at least write this quest off as completed. Thanks for any input.

I think you have a broken quest. It isn't a bad piece of equipment kind of a spread over all three attributes which is the equivalent of nine levels.

The piece found in Folgunthur is on the named draugr at the "end" of the dungeon hike. Mikrul Gauldur. If you killed him early, you should have found the amulet piece and a Writ of Sealing on him when you killed him - which would have started the questline....

Thanks for the responses. It's PC. I kind of suspected a broken quest. I went through there over 200 hrs ago, and a lot has happened since. I've walked it a few times to make sure nothing was missed. I killed everything in there long ago.

I also make sure to check all corpses for loose change--and anything else of value. Seems you can't get rid of quest items once they're in the inventory, so no chance of accidently selling it. Oh well, move on to the next quest.

There's likely a console command to get it into the inventory, but I'm reluctant to mess with too much stuff, as it may introduce issues down the road--it would be nice to finish the quest though.

I suppose it may be better to start/finish a quest, rather than letting them build up--I have a good 25 or so on the back burner.

if this is the enemy which doubles himself all the time then it was bugged for me. after i killed him, his corpse disappeared and the quest arrow pointed somewhere at the water. so i read the wiki and it says this is only one of the many bugs that can occur in this quest. so i had to add the part of the amulet by some console command to proceed.
