Gauldur Quest

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 9:22 am

Ok so I got the Lost Legends book from Farengar and completed two of the three dungeons, the last is Saarthal which is locked and can not be entered without starting the Mage college quest...well I don't even want to do that as I'm not a mage, I play a fighter/archer character...I'm on pc so I can use the console to unlock the door and go about my business and finish the Gauldur questline and I know that doing so will break the other quest (I don't care) but is it possible that doing this will break anything else? After checking the wiki I don't think so but I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this.

Just do it. It's the first quest in the mages guild. They will open it for you

Well I thought of just doing it and then forgetting about it but I don't have enough magica to cast the spell to get in the college...LOL
It just seems kinda dumb that two quests use the same dungeon and one can't be completed without doing the other, other than the location they are not even related.

You dont need magic to get access to the college, just tell the woman you are dragon born and she will request you to show her a shout......

It's a bit silly, but the quest is pretty epic overall.

How do you not have enough magicka to cast magelight? You can cast it with the default magicka amount.

The required spell is different from game to game. I've had to cast Fear in one game, Magelight in another.

I got magelight, my sister got a different one, cost her 135 magicka.

Boy, she was pissed.
