GECK Without New Vegas? : Fallout: New Vegas

Greetings,

So, I will be purchasing New Vegas in January (money is a bit tight this month), but I would like to begin playing around with the New Vegas GECK and seeing how different it is from Oblivion's CS. Does the GECK require F:NV to be installed? I haven't been able to find an answer elsewhere.

All the GECK needs is the Data Folder (6.6 Gb) so it would be easier to just wait until you get the game

You can run the GECK independent of having the game. However, you will not have any resources to load or play with.

Also, you won't have any cells to modify unless you build them.
