General Ramblings from a Confused Adventurer

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 8:30 am

What is with the jar's? Why? Torchbug in a Jar, Moth in a Jar, Butterfly in a Jar, Bee in a Jar, Dragonfly in a Jar. Wiki says 'There is no known use for these items' And secret letters engraved under the lids? I really hope some use will be found for them eventually. It 'bugs' me greatly, ha ha ha

What's with the three drinking guys you meet when walking along the road in Skyrim? They give you a drink, say cheers, walk off and nothing happens? This confuses me greatly! I don't understand. And sometimes you get attacked by a Dark Brotherhood Assassin. The note from Astrid says someone wants you dead. Who? Why? Why can I not hunt this person down and kill them?

Why are there so many objects that are just for decoration? I want to use a Quill and Ink and write a letter. Why can I not dig holes with a shovel?

I would like greater intellectual challenges/puzzles. If I play smart I should be rewarded. ****** Dark Brotherhood Spoiler ************* (Cant use spoiler tags, crappy PS3 browser wont let me, so do NOT read on if you have not completed the Dark Brotherhood Quest)

Reward smart play Bethesda. For example, upon returning to the DB Sanctuary and finding it under attack, I sneaked up on a lone soldier and killed him quitely. I remained undetected. So, I put on his Imperial outfit and casually walk towards the other soldiers. They attack me straight away! How do they know I am really me? Am I not just a soldier from a different legion? I could be. Reward smart play Bethesda!

Same goes for dungeons. I liked the pillar puzzles but, honestly, they were just too easy. I like killing things and being all fighting and aggressive and a good old bit of carnage, but need greater mental challenges. Hard enough that I need to scratch my head and take longer than 5 minutes on it.

Last ramble. People in Skyrim must be really SMELLY. You never see anyone swimming, taking a bath, using a bucket of water to scrub themselves down. And please a tent so I can camp out in the wild when adventuring. And I want to marry that woman in the Blue Palace who wants a Knight to come and sweep her off her feet and take her on some adventure. I don't know her name, how embarassing. Why is her face dirty? She works in the prestigious Blue Palace, her face should be clean!

Well, I can help with this much... if you have some mead of your own to share with the revelers, you may receive a gift in return. Twice now I've given one of the revelers a bottle of Honningbrew, and he gave me a "charmed amulet" which increases carry capacity by 25.

And scout around the hot springs area... you'll find some hunters skinny-dipping.

They're drunk. What'cha expect from a couple happy drunks? They share the love, go off on their merry way, guzzle down another jug or two of Honningbrew mead and then wake up to realize that they've trashed a temple, nearly married a Hagravan and somehow gotten mixed up in the dealings of a Daedric prince.
Why are there so many objects that are just for decoration? I want to use a Quill and Ink and write a letter.
You get to use the quill and paper once during a quest, actually. No opportunities to unleash your inner poet outside of that, though.

Well, of course they're not gonna strip down and bathe with YOU standing around gawking at them, you naughty little pervert. They scrub down in private.

I think the tent-making business in Skyrim quickly fizzled out once people realized that sleeping outdoors in a land crawling with wolves, bears, trolls and Talos-knows-what-else is a very, very bad idea. Have you SEEN how many wrecked campsites there are out there? Just head to the nearest village and crash there, friend.

But I would be willing to pay good money to watch people 'scrub down', I have the coin.

I would be willing to risk a wolf or bear attack whilst out camping. It breaks the immersion if I have a non-fast travelling adventurer, it's 3am, I'm tired and want to sleep as I've been walking all day and got lost, and cannot sleep and the nearest Inn or Tavern is miles away. Should an adventurer not be able to risk it if they want to and set up camp?

You don't need binoculars, you can walk right up to them.

I gave on of the drunk guys a drink and he gave me a necklace with 10% speechcraft :)

Also, why is it okay to take things out of a barrel in a city? Why do the NPC's not consider it stealing?

Am I the only one who is too scared to buy a spider egg from an Alchemist's shop in case it hatches in my pocket?

The people of Skyrim must be bored with no Arena to was fighting. Why not have archery competitions? Horse races? Fishing contests?

There better be a good reason for da bugs and jars. Or else, it will bug me greatly.
