Generic NPC appearing?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 4:01 pm

Hey, i know i've been asking about NPC creation alot, but im encountering lots of weird things happenening, this time, i've noticed that some NPC's i make, appear how i want them in CK, but in game, they appear as the generic base for that gender/race. Like a mod im working on that has a difficult bossfight, but rewards the player with a powerful sword, has a dark elf at the end, but his skin is the lightest color, and his tattoos dont appear.
The breton was a female follower that had a COOLSIMS hair and custom hair color, but when loaded, her entire appearance was generic!
Is there anyone else whos had these problems? If so, how can i fix it?

This might be due to the skin texture bug where the face doesn't match the body.

In the CK, click on your NPC to highlight it. Do not go into the edit screen, just highlight it.
Press Cntrl + F4
The CK will export the face geomtry and texture configuration to the data diectory.

Meshes\Actor\character\facegendata\facegeom\YourMod.esp\xxxxxxx.nif
Textures\Actor\character\facegendata\facetint\YourMod.esp\xxxxxxx.dds
Textures\Actor\character\facegendata\facetint\YourMod.esp\xxxxxxx.tga

Your NPC should look like you expect now in-game.

When you package your mod fro distribution, you need to include those files (though not the .tga).
As of the 1.5 CK, these files are not included when you use the CK to create a BSA.

Hope this helps you.
