Well, I got Fallout: New Vegas as a gift from someone who lives in Germany today.
The copy was bought through STEAM (http://www.steam.com - http://store.steampowered.com/app/22380/).

Now the issue I'm having is that EVERYTHING is in german,
- The settings
- The subtitles
- The dialog
- All text
- All speech.

Now I've been searching around the internet for quitte some time now looking for a solution,
and so far the only option would be illegally downloading the english version and using the legally obtained key to activate it.

Any help?

Try this: Go into steam and click on the library tab. Right click fallout 3 new vegas and select properties.
There should be a language tab. Select english from the drop down box and steam should start updating the game with the appropriate files.

Apparently the german version is a low gore german only version (it should also state this on the advertisemant on german steam). It might say somethign like Low Violence: German low violence version only available with German language. Im not sure though since i have a US IP. Your friend will have to confirm this.

YOu should contact steam regarding this issue. They may offer a refund or simply give you the english version since it was gifted (bought in their online store).

I got roughly the same problem: I am German, got a CD copy in the store and thought: finaly a fallout game where I don′t have to wait for the next trip to the Netherlands to buy it... and now I am stuck with German. And the translation ist rahter crappy in some regards.

Anyone know how I legaly can change the language? I don′t need the increased gore of the english version, but I do need the language... having all posters and signs ingame in english but all dialogue semi-german is so enerving
And I say semi-german, because many fraction names are still written and/or pronounced english, all military ranks in thee NCR are still english, not to speak of locations...
