Totatly new to PC gaming, my PC arrives tomorrow! Should I get the disk for this or get it on “Steam”? Advantages/disadvantages? Thanks in advance!

The disc will allow you to install the game faster because you don't have to download it entirely. So if your internet isn't very fast that's an advantage. Plus some people like having a box on their shelves.

But even the disc version of the game has to be activated on Steam, so almost all advantages that Steam itself offers you will get with the disc version as well. After you've registered the game on Steam with the disc, you could even throw the disc away and just download the game in the future.

If you don't care for these advantages of the disc version, I'd go with whatever is cheapest for you.

I personally say download it with the High resolution texture DLC, make a steam backup of it. But I am biased since I no longer use physical discs in my desktop, dont even have a DVD drive in there.

Sorry if I sound newbish but I can still download the texture pack if I get the disk right? As long as there are no real disadvantages to Steam I’ll probably go that route...

Yes, the High Res texture pack is free to everyone. The only disadvantage to downloading the steam version is if you have a slow Internet connection it will take longer.

And incase you didn't know; You actually have to tell the installer to install from disc, otherwise it will by default download from steam even though the game is on the disc.
