Well, I actually got into the Strip for free. It was a bug of course, but after I paid the 2000 cap fee, I noticed that I still had my original amount of caps. Lucky me.

With 500 caps and a decent speech skill, or I assume high status with the Kings, you can get Mick (I think, it might be Ralph) in Freeside to forge you a passport for 500.

You don't actually need to pay the 2000, you simply need it on you. It's how they keep out the poor folk.

I might be wrong about this, but I got the passport so I could go to the strip. But I didnt end up needing it I think, theres a monorail from Camp McSomethingother, the NCR camp, and the monorail there takes you to Vegas, and I don't think you need a passport or 2000 caps if you go that way.

There are a couple ways to get into vegas. One way is to just get 2000 caps you don't pay the robot. Another way is to pay 500 to the store owner in freeside. Lastly you can take the monorail at McCarren but you will hurt your rep with the NCR if you do that which is fine by me.

It's not a fee, it's a credit check, you keep your caps.

I don't. I spend all my caps on stimpacks and ammo so I can survive Very Hard/hardcoe mode

you can buy a passport from ralph at mick and ralphs. talk to ralph. you need high speech to get him to tell you that he sells them. then he will offer it to you for 500 caps. if you have a high enough barter skill, you can get him to sell it to you for 375 caps.

I use it to buy E-cells and MF cells. My plasma rifle is a hungry beast.

I joined the Kings. We are sick of those cop robots preventing poor people from going to the Strip. I came close to that cop robot and he tried to talk to me, but I kept running and jumping over objects and came close to Kings headquarters. Then I shot him , and together with my fellow Kings , we killed the robot. I took his key. I ran fast to the gates of the Strip and entered it. Had no problems with other robots.

Credit check as in they check to see if you're rich enough.

Good thing caps are soo easy to get... By the time I got to Vegas proper my cap sack was jingling with over 12000 caps plus assorted faction cash.... No problem getting in.
