It gets better with more playtime...

Just my observation:
I've put over 100 hrs of playtime into this game. I'm at level 30, boatload of caps, just walking around and exploring everything before end run. I have definitely noticed less crashes, and recently when freeze happens on load (going through the door or fast travel) it does not corrupt autosave, so I can restart game at the freeze point and continue. Also, few things righted itself - I could not find Isaac so could not finish Contreras unmarked quest (not at Gun Runners, not at home). I thought he was killed or game glitched, then he suddenly appeared at Gun Runners booth. I do not know if that might coincide with recent Xbox360 Microsoft firmware update, or because I hacked Contreras computer. But everything is fine now.
So play on, it got better for me. Only 2 non-malicious freezes this week.

I definitely agree. I was hit with the DLC Download problem, loaded a new game and (knocks on wood) haven't had any serious problems. Yes, it did crash on me, but I just loaded a previous save, went back to where I was and it was all fine.

Yeah Ive had fewer and fewer problems with my second playthrough. I can't attribute it to anything (the xbl update actually seems slower and and a little clunkier than the last version )...aside from those that are reporting no ability to start over (I still am a little confused how they are unable to start a fresh game, with or without the DLC). I have the preorder DLC and was suffering monumental freeze through 5-6 saves (hours of gametime) but I wqs able to backtrack and play through. Second playthrough is going very quick so I'm gonna see what happens after the 50 hour mark (when I had problems before). Still having Framerate issues after 4-5 hours but I am simply saving and quitting out to Dashboard then reloading without issues.
I am encountering many of the reported glitches but nothing catastrophic.

So far the most persistent annoying issue of the game is keeping account of where your companions are. I really think companions need their own markers once discovered since they are constantly getting left behind or randomly disappearing.
My roommate has been able to camp out in their original locations until they appear (reportedly a week in game time but it's generally taking a few 24 hour naps).
I lost Rex to the Lucky 38 in my last playthrough for the Hoover Dam battle. During that my companion (arcade) did nothing but follow me the whole time, somehow not getting killed though he would not let me trade inventory.

The corrupt game save problem had completely stopped me from playing the main missions. Doubtful that a patch/fix would become available anytime soon I decided to roam the wasteland searching, collecting and killing anything and everything. When I first started I was a bit disappointed to have to avoid any of the main missions but, it's gotten to the point where this detoured journey has been quite satisfying and beneficial. I have a lot of caps, ammo, special items and I've even uncovered locations I probably wouldn't have found. Not to mention unlocked additional unique Perks I didn't know existed for just running around shooting things. I haven't ran into anymore problems and am enjoying Fallout New Vegas once again. I'm glad I went this route. :tops:
