I totally forgot about something I must`ve stolen ages ago. I know I don`t steal from innocent people, so it must `ve been a bad person somewhere...

Anyway, I was looking around the Dwemer museum for a nice relaxing rest from everyone trying to kill me and decided to talk to a guard to see if he could tell me more about the museum...

"Wait! I know you. You`ve committed a crime," he said or something like that.

"Er- You must be mistaken," I hurriedly replied.

"No, you`re wanted for crimes. come with me!"

oh no, I thought, bugger it!

But then I saw the option come up, "I don`t have time for this. Do you?" I gave it a try, could mean death, but whatever.

"No, I can`t be bothered. Let this be another guard`s problem.." he walked off.

Cool!

Continued my sight seeing and walked into another room where two guards then proceeded to attack me with no choice to surender and killed me.

WTF? That don`t make sense!

The guards in Calcemo's museum will allow you to walk around freely if you persuade him or kill Nimhe, however his lab is off limits. I'm assuming your in Markarth as that's the only museum win guards I can think of.

I had it happen in Dawnstar. Had a 25 bounty for pickpocketing someone or other (that I killed after, but the witness rules apparently don't apply for pickpocketing bounties).

Guards was "Wait, I know you" Decided he didn't have time to bother. Then heading back to the carriage decided to arrest me all of sudden.

I had something similar happen to me. I swear I never stole anything, but when I approached a sawmill outside Riften, all the sudden a guard ran up to with the intention to kill. I had no other choice but to put him down. When I arrived at Riften, a guard came up to me asking me to pay the bounty for a murder and whatever I had stolen. Definitely rolled back on that save.
