I am getting No Good Loot!

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:21 pm

so I played through as a thief. made it to level 52.

after level 20, it seemed like every vendor would have some good tasty magic items for me. at least one or two.

I felt like I was crapping out magic items. more than I would ever use or need.

now I am a level 22 mage. I have not found any armor/items that protect me from frost.

I have found NO alchemy boost items.

is it just random when they show up?

I never went from merchant to merchant to find stuff the first time, just saw what I saw. I just did the rounds of the cities and saw diddly I wanted.

anyone else?

know of certain vendors who have better magic items?

i think its just the higher your level the better the loot. think i'm right in saying if you find all the stones of barenziah then you find a lot more jewels when dungeon looting?

completing the thieves guild quests opens up a lot of good fences that have 4000 gold, good for selling stuff.

It's completely random yes, but some enchants are much harder to find than others.

Radiant Raiments in Solitude usually have a ton of enchanted apparel. I find most of what I need there pretty fast.

You may go there but my charachter won't support those snotty tarts with septims. I do enjoy wrecking thier shop when they are not around though.

if you max out your speech to 100 and choose all the perks then most vendors get +1000 and if you invest in Riverwood Trader with 500 then he has 10,000+ for bartering, making it easier to sell stuff. Make sure you have talked to him about 'Did something happen' or whatever the dialogue is to begin the 'Golden Claw' quest (you dont have to complete it), or he will only have 1000-2000 for bartering.

I also hear that if you collect the 24 stones of Barenziah then you will have more gems than you know what to do with because of Prowler's Profit. Basically, when dungeon looting, gems are found in urns, chests etc very often.
