As per title. I don't want to join the Dark Brotherhood, I want to wipe them out with this character. I visited the boy and listened to his tale of woe, so now how do I get the quest (and who from) to destroy the Dark Brotherhood?

Do the quest you got from the boy, then simply go to sleep. And you'll wake up with the leader of the Dark Brotherhood watching over you.. Then simply kill her!

Thanks for that. Its just that I thought that someone gave you a quest to get rid of the whole of the Dark Brotherhood as well. Hmm. Will try a search for it.

Search her body after you kill her.

The actual "quest" is given by Commander Maro, the Commander of the Penitus Oculatus. You'll be directed to him.

Don't forget the stone from the sanctuary

btt: iirc the following steps should be necessary

- accept the boys quest and kill the nice old lady
- sleep in a bed (at least for me it was not necessary to wait for the courier)
- kill Astrid
- talk to a guard and tell him you killed the DB leader (maybe not necessary)
- get to Commander Maro and he will give you the quest to destroy the DB
