as the title of my thread suggests, I am growing tired of this game. But I wouldn't post this here if I didn't hope my enthusiasm for this (actually really good) game couldn't be sparked again.
But let me give you a little information about the how and why.
I didn't actually play any single-player-rpgs since I grew tired of Diablo2. I always wanted to play an rpg in may favourite universe (warcraft), but didn't want to pay the monthly fee for WoW. After playing Sacred2 for a while (which was a quite well designed game, but didn't really satisfy me), I finally gave in to my cravings and downloaded the WoW trial-version. That was about two years ago and I heartly enjoyed the game. So I bought the full version and all the add-ons availiable at that time. Ambitious as I was I pretty soon became a raider and found a raid-guild. I liked my "companions" very much and despite the discouraging developments I stayed to play through yet another add-on (cataclysm). I put a lot of effort in becoming a better player, as did my guildies. We managed to raid hardcoe raids pre-nerf and had quite a bit of fun doing so but one day I decided that putting that much effort in a game is just not worth my time (and RL, obviously).
I found out about skyrim shortly before (through internet-memes ^^) and decided to give it a shot. I've never played any ES game before, but I liked Skyrim from the beginning. However, I didn't get to play it for very long and only achieved to get to level 6 before I stopped playing it.
Then, about two weeks ago my interest in this game was kindled yet again and since I've had nothing better to do, I played it a lot.
Now I have a lvl 39 dual-wielding, heavy armor wearing orc-warrior. I'm a Stormcloak, thane of Whiterun, Windhelm, Riften and Solitude (still on the "free the Reach" quests, but done with the Forsworn rebellion in Markarth) . I've got fully upgraded houses in those four cities. I'm one quest short of becoming head of the thieves-guild (no points invested in the "thief-tree" though), I'm a full memeber of the companions, slayed app. 30 dragons. My smithing skill is 100, heavy armour 85, one-handed 74, lock-picking 72 etc.
And there I am. Nothing in Skyrim seems to be an actual challenge anymore (except dealing with the glitches!).
I wear full legendary dragon armour (enchanted with "fortify one-handed/health/stamina/archery" - I also have a "blacksmith set" with fortify smithing, to upgrade my weapons/armour) and two legendary ebony war axes (shock/fire enchanted - black(great).
I also have the gauldur-amulet, which was at least a small challenge to get, but except dragons, every opponent is just a one-shot (run-power-attack with additional crit-dmg). And I never need more than two standing, dual-wielding power-attacks to slay one of those.
There's hardly any opponent that can actually harm me, but even when there is, I simply drink one or two potions and that's it.
But what really angers me, are the glitches. I found the orc-lady (Borgakh) in Mor Khazgar and as an orc, I thaught it to be very nice to have her as my follower. I also read some part of what she told me and learned, that she has not yet found anyone to mary and read about the possibility to marry an NPC in Skyrim.
I eqipped her with the best items i could forge and watched her, so she wouldn't die (as did two of my former followers, which I didn't really care about).
When I had the time I did the marriage-quest an married her. I heard, that you can decide which house to stay at, but there was no such option. She just left the building and disappeared. She was at no of my houses and not at her home in Mor Khazgar. I could also ask one of my housecarls to follow me, thus I believe she's gone for good.
The last "hard-save" I had was from before I cleared that dwemer place with Mercer at the end (too long and tedious to do again) and since I've left the Temple in Riften I've opended a few doors, so there also was no autosave from before the marriage to find out if it was only a temporary glitch.
So now I'm stuck in this game with nothing to do (pretty much to do actually, but nothing that spells fun), and my favourite NPC disappeared...
WWYD?
