I've left Skyrim for a few months and recently come back to it starting a fresh game due to all the bugs from my previous game, and I was curious if anyone has any information on whether the "Gildergreen Tree Sapling" bug has been fixed yet through all these patches and updates?

Nope still not fixed, at least not on console. Pick the sap, its possible the other people with you will be killed by Spriggans though.

Yeah I guess that's my only option then.

No problem, I actually did this quest last night. Of course, I was level 43. Be careful if you're low leveled.
