LOL
"many peoples opinion" is something vague
There are even more who consider Bethesda makes good rpg's and you can see that in sales.
Yeah.. and how many people buy the same sports game year after year... Most people are stupid.
I'm dead serious though, the story and dialog in Oblivion was no better then the ancient D&D games, the D&D games were good for their time, but we're talking early 90's!
FO3 was a little better then Oblivion but it was still a lame story, a terrible ending and very sterile dialog.
Compare FO3 and even NV to the story telling of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Hell even Assassins Creed has better storytelling and it's not even an RPG. Just having voice acting really isn't good enough any more. Conversation have to be more real, not the sterile 'ask options 1-4, then say goodbye' stories have to pull you in more and make you think, wow that one conversation actually changed the game.
Edit: as for being vague... would you rather I throw up some totally bogus stat like so many others pulling numbers out of the butts? I can say for a fact this is my opinion of it, I've had many other people agree with me in that opinion, and talking to people that loved the game they also admitted things like dialog could have been better but they loved the open ended aspect of the game. Well being open ended isn't always best for a story, and to many RPGs are about story... not player houses that have actually no impact on gameplay what so ever.
