Glitch fixes on consoles + Guide for those stuckannoyed

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:34 pm

hi. so i noticed you guys have patched the oghma infinium glitch. don't really see why you would do that tbh.

i tried removing the patches to use it but my toon is on the new content.. it's a minor annoyance to rush a new one thru again, and i'm sure you realize that it is possible to do.. i mean i got the oghma in less than an hour with my new character..

well i'm sure you have some silly reason for wasting time patching things like this when you can simply go hit the ~ key on the pc and change everything in less time. i guess you guys like punishing console users.

to anyone who wishes to have a max level toon on their console, for xbox go to system settings, hard drive, press y, and clear the cache. i can't remember the exact steps but you'll figure it out, just don't hit format obviously.

from there make your toon with the updates removed and sprint past everything as fast as you basically can. or don't whatever.
get 20 gold to go to winterhold.
head southwest until you find a sightless cave up on the mountain, then above it is a skeleton on an alter. just grab his shield, dont touch his book and kill him. opening and closing the loot screen duplicates a new book.
sell them all and level smithing to 60ish or 70. buy soul trap.
head back to the skeleton, his body is in the same spot even if it's invisible. now just cast soul trap on him till conjuration is 60 or 70.
from there head to riften and find a wood elf in the black briar meadery place or wandering around outside. ask him what he thinks about maven and if your speech is below 25 bribe him to tell you until it is. from there continuosly persuade him since it loops.
get to level 16.
go to septimus's outpost north westish of the college of winterhold.
get the quest.
blast past everything, pick up any armor or weapons as u go.
get the elder scroll and head back.
go to liars retreat southwest of solitude and gather all the blood except altmer.
leave and go to the standing stones with mage thief and warrior, then go southwest. youll find a talos shrine with a dead thalmor.
go back to septimus and get your oghma
read the book, put it in a dead body or container and take it back then re read. or youtube it for a more detailed guide.

there you go. i've made and still make legit characters. i don't see why people think this will ruin the game, or why it really is anyones business to tell someone else how they should play or what they should do.

peace.

OK that's nice, but The way you make it sound, it sounds like no fun just to get a few stats up.

@raq - why not. i want to rp a powerful character from the start, why does my toon have to be a nub?

@templar - gets every skill to 100 and caps your level.

if it were up to me my toon would be one of the most powerful mages in high rock.. no, not even.. my toon would be nerevar himself, from morrowind. the game would of started with the imperials trying to arrest me and me declining with a fireball to their face.

it's more than just getting a few stats up. this is the first time in console history that you are now able to do what pc players have been able to do from the start of elder scrolls! and as far as the oghma glitch not working, thats not true. i created a orc after the supposed fixing of the glitch and it still worked for me.the point is not to cheat but to have fun! create your god armor and when you get sick of destroying everything in your path just remove your god armor.my question is why everyone refers to it as cheating on console but it's fine to do it on pc?just leave it alone and let console players have the same fun as pc players.

yeah i know it works still, it just requires more steps to do now and i'm sure they plan on patching that soon too.. i just was a little disappointed that they would hinder us in a game that tries to enable the player so much when, like you said the pc players have complete control over it and much more. all you have to do is type in tgm. seriously.

it's just strange.

IMO, skyrim really isn't that sort of game. Maybe you should try some online multiplayer crap.

Pretty sure most people just play the game, without being level 81 straight away. I'm glad it will be removed in 1.4, it's really not needed.

Eh, for those who need it it is needed.

If people wants to break their toy, hey, their toy. It won't affect yours, so why bother removing it? Methinks Bethesda is doing the community a disservice for "fixing" this bug

Sometimes people don't want to go through all the "muffle" grind to get the Invisibility spell, you know? At least I feel that way
