Gloves of the Pugilist

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 6:00 am

I've just learnt about the Gloves of the Pugilist that can be disenchanted for fortify unarmed damage. However I believe (at over 200 hours in its hard to say for sure) I have already killed Gian the Fist in the ratway and his corpse isn't there any more. As it was so long ago I'm not sure if I took them and sold them or left them as unwanted loot (not a light armour type of guy). So if I did sell them what are the chances they will still be at a merchant (i.e. how long do items stay in merchants inventories)? Or what happened to his corpse as the others I killed in the ratway are still there? Or have they gone for good?

?Any help appreciated. Thanks.

P.s. I'm on xbox so I cant just use the dev. console ='(

Some unique items will stay permanently in a vendor's inventory. If you think you sold them try checking the inventory of every vendor. The ratway never respawns, which is where Gian is supposed to be located, so I'd double check there as well.

Yeah I checked the rat way. According to UESP he should be located in the room with the bear traps but he's not there. I also used detect dead to help and still couldn't find him. =(

I could be utterly wrong, because I never actually used Detect Dead - but isn't this spell for the detection of skeletons and draugr and such things?

The guy with the Gloves of the Pugilist usually leaves the bear trap room in my games and I've a fight with him in the room just before that one.

I use the spell to find the bodies of bandits I've killed. Sometimes they'll get blasted into places where their bodies blend in with the background. Detect Dead makes it easier to pinpoint their bodies. Works for walking draugr and skeletons too.

You might be able to scan the ground with the crosshairs if he clipped through the ground, but Detect Dead might work the same.

If you do find them you can replicate them on a mannequin and Disenchant them so you get to keep a pair.

At the collage of whold you can hear bones moving while walking around the court yard and it is because In the midden dark when you kill the skeletons they clip the ground. So mabey you can go to whiterun or solitude and fall through and walk to riften and find the body of Gain the fist! Anyway good luck!

Interesting approach. :P

The couple of times I've clipped through the world I end up being 'warped' back to the zone/cell entrance. <_<

The gloves of the pugilist are utterly useless unless you feel like beating everyone up.
