Godzilla Fans

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:34 am

I was just wondering how many people were fans of the big green guy. Plus, I'm kinda bored. I've been a fan since kindergarten and seen almost every movie made.

Edit: For those of you who don't know godzilla, http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/Godzilla is all the info I can find on him.

I for some reason, misread this as a 'Gorillaz Fans' thread lol :P

For the record (and off topic I know) what is your favourite Gorillaz track?

I've only ever seen the American New York version and I like it, its on video somewhere in my attic. I remember my family went to see it when we were young I was 6 and I stayed awake the whole film while my brother and sis fell asleep, I was real chuffed with myself :D

Yea watched them all the time when I was a kid. Also use too rent them form the video store around the corner form my house all the time.I loved the musical intros to them when I was little, the Smog monster one constantly got stuck in my head. The American version was okay, of course I haven't seen it in about 5 or 6 years.

Now I am tempted to go find them all and rewatch them.

I love the concept I have only seen 2 of the movies though.
I don't know if I would call myself a fan, but yeah I like the concept.

Ha! I'd forgotten about the cartoon series! What was the other one called? Godzuki?

I went through a phase of watching the old 50s black-and-white films, but I wouldn't call myself a fan.

Did anyone see the film with Matthew Broderick? I recall thinking it was OK at the cinema, but having absolutely no desire to see it again.

A huge fan, when I was about 5 I was a huge fan and had alot of stuff including toys clothes and blankets and crap, back when it had its little popularity rise when the crappy American one came out.

I wouldn't say good movies, not even close. :) But fun to watch nonetheless. The voice overs is always cool too. I have seen many of the movies, and some numerous times. The other day the original one was on and I watched it, I was surprised it was on, but I remember watching the marathons of them, and having my little toys with me. Good times.

I'm not a Godzilla fan, but I love watching all the crappy dubbed-over imports on what must have been AMC back in the day. Great stuff.

Hell yeah. Favorite one is Godzilla vs Rodan. Godzuki was the son of Godzilla. He could never blow fire, just little round smoke rings. Spent many a weekend afternoon in the seventies watching Godzilla movies. We'd always mimic the off sync overdubbing.

The nineties remake with Broderick svcked. Godzilla himself looked awesome. The only good thing to come out of it for me was that it turned my son onto Godzilla. I confess that we have a Godzilla hand and finger puppets. I am not above playing with them, either.

I'm a fan, as long as he stays away from my home town. Not enough tall buildings here for him to climb on though, so I'm probably safe.

Then of course...there is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZFKEa8zqYc&feature=related by F. Zappa who so vividly elucidates the entire [monster] experience in his unique and vividly elucidating manner...

We used to watch Godzilla on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_Graves_Ghastly a local show right here in Detroit, popular throughout the entire 70's decade.

Am I the only one who liked the American movie?

I thought Godzilla looked cool in it.

Never saw many of the old ones though, but I did play through a neat little Godzilla game on the Gameboy Pocket. Don't even remember the name...probably "Godzilla". :P

Oh man, I remember first hearing that song, starring in confusion, then asking my dad if it was saying godzilla, which obviously he replied with yes. Then I can only imagine me jumping around like Yay for Godzilla.

You gotta give points for the top comment:

"You could not dream up a movie plot like this if you tried...
Giant earthquake caused massive tsunami destroying nuclear plant releasing massive raditation to monster Island. The result, Godzilla!!!"

no kidding, huh?
