What's a shadowscale?
Argonians born under the sign of the shadow, trained and disciplined to be top assassins in the dark brotherhood for the rulers of Black Marsh.

Up to you, seeing as they are just star signs, not birth signs any more. I would just ignore any other stones I came across first, and view finding the appropriate stone as 'unlocking' a congenital destiny.

That sounds insanely fun, actually. I may have to steal your idea!
And I would, just for the sake of making it official. Perhaps your character isn't aware that he/she is a shadowscale until they discover their strange ability and talent for assassination?

(( You're a shadowscale from birth, or not at all. ))

but the morag tong never had shadowscales, that is an argonia/brotherhood exclusive deal (And one of the reasons the brotherhood is the best [or was, they svck in skyrim])

If you earnestly believe that, I pity you.
Even the strongest Shadowscale couldn't beat the weakest of the Morag Tong. Obviously.
That the Dark Brotherhood and their desperate flouncing is the best the Argonians can aspire to speaks for itself.

(( Out of all the faction quest lines in Skyrim, DB were the best written and most fun. They were also the least annoying of all the NPCs. Pretty much the same story for Oblivion IMO. ))

you foolish dunmer, the shadowscale are assassins of unmatched quality and the argonians are much greater than a simple cult to mephala

the brotherhood is dead in skyrim, no respect for the nightmother, no acknowledgement of sithis and totaly disregard for the tenents (hence, they svck)

but sithis is the entire reason mundas and even the great argonians (and worthless dunmer [and everything inbetween]) came to be, our cult is better

He however is not the only reason. You forget the balancing force of Anuiel, they exist in a metaphorical Ying-Yang relationship.

I like you, I really do. Too bad I have this here writ. Look around, the guards don't seem to mind to much. Dont take it personally.

Dagger on. Apply directly to the throat.

anuiel is order, unchanging order, without chaos the elements to create creation would never have came into play, creation in and of itself is chaos incarnate, sithis, our dread father, incarnate. and a writ...? a coward's method, truely, this is more proof of how we in the brotherhood are the true assassins, the ones who do not need some writ to kill, the ones who kill shrouded by shadow, the ones who instill fear in the hearts of all, a morag tong could never kill an agent of the brotherhood

edit: devil keyz, we are just having fun, sure we support our relative assassin cults but this little debat we are having is just a way to have fun while staying on topic (even though the others are wrong the brotherhood is unstoppable and greater)

One cannot deny the power that is Sithis to do so would deny the power oif one of the most power and mysterious entities within TES lore. He is basically chaos and the dark beyond. Also the Brotherhood is one of the most influensial and feared guild in Tamriel people cannot dispute that even tho they have lost their power they will rebuild: but to say its impossible for a Morag Tong assassing to kill a brotherhood assassin is a little one sided one could kill the other.

one-sided is the name of the game here, overly biased arguments are the most fun to make (see the edit above, this is mostly for fun, but the brotherhood is best  )

Just remember mortal. Mephala is ever-diligently spinning her web upon which your fate lies. Pull but one thread, and the whole thing unravels. Sounds like your "brotherhood"; if you can call it that. No? Sithis may be the primeval force of chaos and dissaray, but Mephala; MEPHALA! She is the very catalyst upon which "Sithis" as a force can be observed on this plane! Pull but one thread, and the whole thing unravels.....such is our relationship. Don't forget, we are but brothers in this darkness we call life.

And pondscum, you fail to see the purpose of said "writ". It is not the cowardly device you "Brotherhood" folk commonly perceive it to be. Much as how your matron whispers her whims into listening ears, Mephala communes with us. Through the webs she weaves, and the beings she manipulates come distrust, ambition, and deceit. Though a writ is a creation of a mere mortal, it truly acts as a channel to our matrons will. We Morog Tong are as much home in the shadows as you are brother.

I must say, this debate has been quite enjoyable sir :D
