gold- the easiest thing to get ever

i shouldn't have to make an effort to be poor...

LOL! Now you know how people feel who try to play Skyrim the way it was made. Similar to how quickly you can completely unbalance gameplay with smithing, enchanting, the sneak perks, invisibility, or any other number of capabilities the game has that were never balanced for squat. Deliberately limiting and gimping your character at every turn is pretty much a requirement, if you want it to remain at all interesting. Beth decided to let us fumble around with balancing the game ourselves, so they wouldn't have to! Pretty foxy of them, no? Saved themselves a lot of effort.

i have had a new character for 3hours now, and i would think i'd be fairly poor, since i haven't done any major moey making quest chains... i have 5k septims, i mean cmon... im still in imperial armor from the starting zone, i should have less than one gold... i should have a haygold... point is way too easy to make gold int his game without even trying... i just gave mine all away to my follower, who i dismissed and would take too long to find... since he is kharjo...
What did you do to get the gold?
i shouldn't have to make an effort to be poor...
Then you will continue to be disatsified.

If you were speaking to me I never made any effort to be poor. The way I play doesn't end in the accumulation of great wealth early on. No sure what you're doing to have so much so soon but in 3 characters that hasn't happend to me. 2 of my characters are over 50, the last is now over 40. None of them have become overly rich. Not that I don't know how to do it, I just don't. There's no point to trying to make a lot of money. I make enough to buy what I need and that's fine with me. If you want a game that makes you struggle at every turn this is not it. None of the previous TES games have been designed that way. I have no idea why some of you think that all of a sudden Bethesda is going to change a successful franchise to be that way. It's just not going to happen. If you're on the PC it can be modded in. That's about your only hope at this point. But you could alway try e-mailing Bethesda with your suggestions on how they could make the economy in their games better. You might have more luck with that than by starting complaint threads.

I spend most of my early gold on trainers, that keeps you fairly broke (or at least not stupid rich) until later levels.

You should never do that.
Spending gold on trainers causes you to level up, levelling up means you get better loot, better loot means heavier loot, heavier loot means over encumbrance, over encumbrance means you have to sell your loot, selling your loot means more money.
It's a vicious cycle.

On the other hand, not spending gold to train skills you will never use means you end up with a lower maximum total level which means less perks.

After level 15 or so training 5 levels wont take up the majority of your level-up bar anymore and I think becomes viable to utilise for efficient levelling and perk hunting.

I train up skills that I may not use much early on, but I may use later. For example, I am playing a spellsword right now, but I couldn't take a bunch of hits to level up light armor (little health/high difficulty level), so I spent money to train it. Same with 2-handed. It wasn't very viable to use early on, but I knew I wanted to use it later, so I paid to level it up.

Kind of like grinding your Enchanting skill by enchanting iron daggers with petty soul gems until you can make a decent enchantment. That's what I'm doing at the moment ;)
