Golden Glow Estate: Mercs & Aringoth

Post » Sun Jul 15, 2012 2:20 am

I completed the quest "loud and clear" a long time ago, however, I snuck by everyone. I did not want to kill. I ended up picking Aringoth's safe for the deed to the estate, and returning it to the Guild.

Fast forward about 4 months, I am swiming by the place, and the mercs tell me to get lost. I do not, they start shooting arrows. I jump the rocks and lay waste to 10 of them. Go inside the estate, lay waste to more mercs, and find Aringoth up in his room cowering.

There is a bee statue that is worth a lot of money in the room.

Question or statement is this. We already own the deed to the island. WTF are they still doing on the estate? Mavin and or the Quild Master (myself) should have appointed somebody to run the place. That would be the correct thing to do. Make it happen.

I know I could just go in there, kill everyone, take everything, and move in (since the estate does not re-spawn). What fun would that be? It is like when I go to Nightingale hall and see Karliah just sitting by herself in that big ass cave. Makes no sense.

I guess I am just going to re-load a previous save. I'll have to role play that all is well on the island.

FML...

The general consensus is that we do not own the "deed" we only have the "bill of sale".

So, I take it this has been discussed before? So, I stole the "bill of sale" showing that Aringoth purchased the estate? Why, so we could forge it? Put the "bill of sale" one of "ours" names?

This is madness!

Me too. I just wish we could move into it proper because it is a really cool house/dwelling. :P

Yes. :P
I don't think it shows how purchased it - I think the Fence in Solitude acted as an "agent", but the buyer's name isn't listed.
I don't think we could forge it without the Quill of Germination. :P

To know who was behind the sale. Aringoth didnt buy the estate he sold it. It was part of the plot by Karliah to undermine Mercer.

If he sold it, why is he still upstairs cowering in his old room? Where the hell is the new owner?

No, the bill of sale stated that Aringoth SOLD the estate.

Read the quest dialog. ><

OK, it has been a long time, forgive me...

However, who did he sell it to? And where is the new owner?
