I'm gonna "cheatexploit", need ideas

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:45 pm

I've got about all I want to get out of skyrim by now. Only one playthrough, but I've done just about everything. I played as a two handed warrior with enchanting and illusion specialties. At least in the beginning. By the end he was a jack of all trades type.

I created a new char with a specific idea in mind. I'm level 15, with no perks allocated, and I'm going to get the oghma infinium and exploit all the way to lvl 81 and have 80 perks to spend. What I'm looking for are builds that are interesting and different to play. Something I wouldn't have thought of that would keep my interest. With every skill a 100 it might not be that interesting from a combat standpoint, but I'm looking for a combination of perks that opens up new possibilities. Something different.

Any ideas?

Please do not post Spoilers in General.

People come to General to learn about the game without learning about what happens in the game. If they want to know about what happens, that is what the Cheats, Hints and Spoilers section is for.

Do not use quest details or location specific details related to quests/puzzles/NPCs in your posts in this section. General is for discussing gameplay and mechanics. General topics about the the game include but are not limited to: races, items and their use, magic, enchanting, skills, perks, character builds, Skyrim specific Lore, criticism, praise, funny random things that happen, places from an esthetic standpoint and and other general topics.

Use the Spoilers Section if you have to post quest details or other spoilers or a thread about the same. Location specific details are also spoilers, this includes unique item/NPC locations and puzzles. The Spoilers section is also for exploits with character builds.

I will move this now.

You need to ask a MOD to move this for you. That is to the Cheats/Hints/Spoiler section.

EDIT : AH! Ninj'd by the Mod....

An archealogical artifact trader who is completely usless at fighting, relying on speech and having companions to do the dirty work for them.
High smithing, alchemy and enchantment purely for buffing up those goods to get some decent prices for them.
The use of restorative and defensive magic arts only.

Whether you get the goods through legal or crooked means is up to you.

its too obvious of an exploit to think it was an accident, and not only that, the name of the book, "infium", that even sounds like the exploit, i think most of the so called exploits are part of the game design in all their games, they could close all exploits easily but why? the only problem is the people who are annoyed that others use exploits and that has nothing to do with the price of tea in china, just a few people being upset cause others might "cheat" in their own game isn't a reason for anything to be "fixed". a broken quest, backward flying dragon or too large a game save file needs to be fixed, something like this is so much an indivual choice that doesn't affect anyone or gameplay and was most likely put in there on purpose, i don't see getting changed at all.

They've tried to fix it twice now. They just aren't very good at fixing things.

they design very complex games, this isn't something thats "stumping" them. lol the name of the book even sounds like the exploit... its not something they're gonna waste time on "fixing" its not broken. its just an tricky kinda exploit you can choose or not choose to use...its not a game affecting thing. and if it affects the game, it only affects the person who wants to use it in their own game...so you not being happy about that isn't a reason for anything to ever get "fixed", and not only that...even if it was patched...all we would have to do is clear the cache or do the quest without the patch then download the patch...so thats pretty much that.

I agree it would be seriously [censored] for Beth to bother fixing this exploit. It's a single player game so exploits of this nature have no negative impact. Tho I swear I've seen it mentioned in patch notes previously.

To answer your question, I really can't think of much. I couldn't begin to think of what to do with all those perks. The only interesting builds involve limiting chosen perks to specialize the character. 80 isn't limited so I dunno.

Hmm... You can do what i did. First off let me just say this, i dont consider this a cheat since the game allows you to do this in other ways.

You know how you can make 4 items with 25% magic cost reduction for every school of magic? Well... F--k carrying around 20 pieces of extra equipment...

I used the restoration glitch. Now i have a ring with 100% magicka cost reduction for each school of magic.

5 rings=1.4 lbs or
20 pieces of equipment=20 lbs

Now im a true master of all trades.

exactly, and even the book sounds like the exploit, "infium" .but if it does get patched out, that would be stupid cause anyone on pc can still use it and everyone with a current copy of the game could as well. i would just start a game without the patch and wait till i get the book to update the patch. so if they patched it, it really wouldn't exclude anyone from using it still. i just don't see it as something they are even gonna worry about...its not where they need to exert energy since other things have way more priority, like fixing as many of the quest bugs as possible, and follower problems like them losing carry capacity every time you let your follower go, or not being able to rehire illia after her quests...those are things that need fixing.

If you order your companion to pick stuff up off the ground their carry capacity is unlimited.

I'm pre-building a few characters with the " oghma infinium exploit" because of this. Be sure to level up and don't chose any perks so if you want to try something different you can without grinding too much.
