What, no option for Neutral? I like the moral grey area.

Karma is pointless. You slaughter some Legion and gain karma, then you take their stuff and lose it. Stealing from the people you've just murdered is bad but murder is okay? Yeah, okay.

Obsidian should've just removed it entirely.

hahaha even though i disagree with some parts of that, they do need to tweak it a little because I noticed that too when you kill the Legion and then ransack the place you gain and lose karma which pretty much makes it seem like youre on a treadmill runnin in place hahaha

I've only ever gained Karma for killing Ghouls and Fiends, but never Legion. It'd be good if the Karma loss for stealing was lower, since it doesn't take long for a bit of harmless looting in an empty shack to turn you evil. I think they should have either given karma more of a role in the game, or yeah, got rid of it. The only effect I know of from bad karma is...
Spoiler
Cass can get pretty mad when your karma is low. I made the mistake of running into the bar where she's parked til you recruit her, she chased me all the way out of the Outpost.

I refuse to let a game tell me what is right and wrong. I do whatever best fits the situation.

I feel bad for Bad Karma people. Good Karma is pretty much like a senile santa giving you a gift everytime you go in line to sit on his lap. Bad Karma isnt as easy to gain back if you do a good deed.

I try to do the bad thing honest. But the fiends get really jumpy and shoot on sight.

I wait for the karma to be fixed.

I prefer the evil route, mainly because the "good" route is so arbitrary. I can go into an old rocket facility, overrun with feral ghouls who reward positive karma for killing them, meet the wackjob ghoul cult who wants them kept alive, help said cult go into space and receive positive karma for making sure they get there alive... yet I get evil karma for blowing those lunatics to a billion tiny pieces despite their attempts to keep those feral ghouls alive and allowing them to run rampant attacking the villagers at Novac.

At the same time, I could raze Goodsprings, Novac and Primm to the ground, killing easily three dozen or more people and pilfering all their property, becoming a terror of the wasteland... yet not long after I can kill a mere half dozen to a dozen Fiends afterward and be recognized as a stand-up good guy that even Cass would happily work alongside.

It's not easy being evil and showing it, but I enjoy the challenge, while maintaining the difference between "evil" and "psychotic stupid". From a roleplaying aspect, as the Courier, I enjoy the "out for revenge, stay the hell out of my way" concept - unfortunately that tends to lead quite often to arbitrary changes to my "karma" that make no sense much of the time. At least they got the faction reputations right.

I create very dark characters so none of them would be "good" but none of them are truly "bad" either.
So...
Chaotic Neutral I guess.

But that damn goody two shoes karma screws it up, And that damn bad karma never gives me enough negative to balance good out.

There should have been an achievement for ending the game with evil karma. My characters steal and murder all the time yet they're "Jesus of the Mojave" at the end of a game.

Bad Karma, it feels good to steal whatever I want from the Neutral or Good Factions I kill. It also feels good to kill whoever I want. (That's right Westside, I've done my destruction on that city/town)

Thats a good idea they should have a different ending for each karma, that would be cool... hopefully they read this

I hope they actually fix the karma. I don't care about achievements.

There already are actual different endings depending on what your karma level is for each faction (IE: House is proud of you for being such a great guy working for him / House is glad you are on his side because he is afraid if you turn on him he won't be able to stop you). Most people don't get to see the neutral and evil endings because it's just too damn easy to push yourself up to good karma away from the lower karma levels.

I go out of my way to avoid Bad Karma.

Specifically since it is difficult to quantify how much Karma a specific action will bring and adjusting it is such an immersion-breaking chore.

Neither Beth or Obsidian ever got a handle on the whole Ownership thingy. One of my biggest little peeves. Fortunately there's always the Console

If some wasteland [censored] is selfish enough to think I am evil for not catering to his every need deserves the bullet I put in his head.

Neutral all the way.
