Good headphones suggestions for Skyrim

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:46 am

I've been using the Turtle Beach wireless PX5 headphones, which are good, but, I notice neck issues when I wear them for several hours. Since I know I will be playing Skyrim WAY TOO MUCH, I'm hoping some forum members can suggest some good headphones which are lightweight for Skyrim.

Ideally, they would be Dolby 7.1 compatible and wireless.

Any suggestions?

P.S. I'm playing about 10 feet away from my HDTV. I can deal with wired but prefer if not.

Let's pretend the sky is no limit -- for your suggestion's sake.

Question is rather general and little to do with the game. Moved to CD.

Personally I would stay away from wireless for best sound reproduction. The technology is getting pretty good, but you'll spend twice as much for headphones that just don't sound as good when fully charged. I'm looking as well my studio monitor v6 are finally starting to go, after 15 years. I'm looking at 90% stay at home cans that I can use for gaming as well as music for about $100. I've had a few decent suggestions, there are the grado sr80, sennheiser HD 555 and HD 280 as well as audio technica ad700. I haven't had a chance to check any of these out, but I started a similar thread and these were recommended and online searches proved them to be all pretty good for around $100. But it all comes down to the individual. Personally I'm looking for non gaming headphones- do t care about a mic hooked up to them. Gaming headphones are ok at best for pure sound quality, and with me not playing fps much anymore I couldn't care less about a mic.
