Only use a conjured sword.
Focus on having your points in the reanimation part of the Conjuration skill tree
Mage robes
Illusion spells like "fury"

Its a difficult build, especially when that is your only focus

If you want to go full-on Necromancer, use the Necromancer's Robes and Amulet. Use Conjuration as your primary means of anything (offense, defense, distractions, etc.). Consider some Destruction, possibly some Illusion and/or Alteration. Honestly this will be a very hard build to use, especially at lower levels. If/when you max it out though, you'll be pretty much unstoppable, with a couple of high level minions doing your work for you, and virtually limitless pools of magicka... It will take a lot of patience/perseverance to reach that point though.

I played a necromancer once and it was alot of fun.
I did end up having to mix in some of the other conjuration spells to help out.
In order to reanimate a person you first have to make a person dead, duh.

You have several options, destruction, illusion and or more conjuration.
My necromancer conjured an atronoch to get things started then started to reanimate the dead once I got one.

I think if I were to do it over I would start with casting a frenzy spell then reanimate the bandits dead friend to attack them again.
Thats kind of sick if you think about, first your buddy starts to attack you for no apparent reason then after you kill him he comes back to life and attacks you again in a zombie form this time. That has to strike alot of fear into your enemies that way.

The destruction cold spells sound very necromancer-ish but just don't work very well against alot of enemies.

Another option would be to bring along a good tank type follower and let them make the first kill, you could use restoration to help keep them going strong until you can reanimate an enemy.

Something else I've been thinking about doing soon is a stealth, vampire necromancer.
I haven't figured it out all the way yet but basically you sneak attack with a bow then reanimate the first body you kill to finish off the rest.

Any wich way you go about it the ritual stone is a good choice.

I'm thinking about a dark elf. But should I be Breton or high elf instead. I do like the extra 50 magika that high elfs get.

Go with wich ever you like the look of best,or wich one fits your roleplay.
The 50 extra magick from the altmer will come in habdy early in the game but in the end it doesn't make that much differance.
You can find enchanted robes that give you more than enough magick along with spell cost reduction robes that will give you plenty of magick to work with.

The Breton 25% resistance to magic is incredibly useful, and helps make to an anti magic tank

Necromancers were a bit more fun in Oblivion, because you could conjure zombies and skeletons. That game didn't have thralls though. Illusion magic can work good for the build, maybe.

I prefer a hybrid necromancer/assassin build

Race : Breton

Primary skills -
Conjuration for necromancy spells and bound weapons (raise everything you kills and always use bound weapons in combat and this skill will raise very quickly)
One handed for bound sword damage
Destruction for a ranged combat option

Secondary skills -
Restoration or alchemy for various buffs and healing
Stealth - for sneaking around crypts and performing assassinations.
Light armor for better protection than robes.
Enchanting for adding buffs to armor and the soul trapping perks fit the necromancer image

Play style: sneak and stealth attack until combat is engaged then raise minions and go all out.

Enjoy!

I like this one. Instead of Breton I might use an elf though. Thanks man
